Our client is a well-established residential developer located in the Ottawa region. Operating for over forty years, they are well known for their high-quality residential builds and communities across North America. They are currently looking for an experienced Architectural Technologist with a proven record of residential design to join their team.

Your new role

Working closely with the Production Manager, you will be responsible for developing site & grading plans, interacting with clients throughout the custom design & detailing process, and customizing standard building plans to ensure the client satisfaction. You will prepare preliminary plot plans and produce working drawing packages, as well as overseeing the building permit application process. Your work will focus within the Ottawa region but you will coordinate with the larger team across North America. The mid-sized team has an open, collaborative environment and it is important you are a self-starter with strong communication & problem solving skills.

What you'll need to succeed

An educational background in architecture with 3+ years of relevant experience as a Technologist with a focus on residential builds, specifically single family homes & low rise builds within Ontario. An in-depth understanding of Ontario Building Codes, standards & construction techniques (wood frame construction) and technical proficiency in AutoCAD & MS Office is required. A valid BCIN (or interest in obtaining it is also important). This role is based in Ottawa and is based primarily in office & on site so it is important you are willing to commute to this area daily.

What you'll get in return

The compensation package is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive salary between $70k-$85k, commensurate with experience, 3 weeks' vacation + 5 paid sick/personal days, extended health & dental benefits, a healthcare spending program and an RRSP contribution program.
