The CNC Programmer is responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications and adjusting the machine cutting paths to produce parts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate materials and equipment.
- Coordinate with other manufacturing facilities to ensure that programming approach is consistent across locations and that programs are optimized for manufacturing at other facilities
- Inputting the product design into the computer modeling software.
- Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for the job.
- Adjusting machine settings to the desired product specifications.
- Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process.
- Ability to train new staff on machine operation procedures.
- Comply with all safety, quality and work rules, guidelines and regulations.
- Keep your supervisor informed of problems, progress and suggestions in a timely manner.
- Design modifications from the floor markups and update the metal and bus packages
- A strong Mechanical aptitude, detail oriented and good analytical skills are a must
- Performs other duties which may be required by supervisor.
COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of metal shop work
- Skilled at troubleshooting
- Proficient computer skills are a must
- Extensive experience with computer modeling software such as SolidWorks
- Knowledge of Amada AP100 & VPSS3i preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a CNC programmer required
