Corporate Commercial Lending Paralegal

Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a full-time Corporate Commercial Paralegal with between 4-7 years direct experience in handling complex commercial business ventures, residential and commercial transactions including purchases, sales, and share and asset transactions.

Duties include:

• Handling complex business acquisitions and divestitures (share, asset and hybrid transactions)
• Assisting with commercial lending/borrowing files ranging from simple to complex and some second mortgage transactions
• Drafting and review of various contracts, shareholders’ agreement, commercial leases, and other business contracts
• Preparing transaction closing documents
• Managing multiple files and closings for various transactions, preparing reporting books, invoices, etc.
• Managing lawyer calendars, scheduling meetings, coordinating workflow to ensure file flows smoothly

About you:

• Paralegal Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
• Between 2 - 10+ years of direct working experience with a focus on corporate-commercial and commercial lending
• Familiarity with LTO and PPR documents, registrations, and procedure
• Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to exercise good judgement and maintain professionalism
• A desire to be involved in the entire transaction from start to finish, to work independently while maintaining extensive contact with the partner and client, and to handle high-volume in a fast-paced environment
