Full Job Description

Amir Quality Meats is a wholesale meat production company located in Brampton Ontario with an immediate opening for a HACCP Coordinator.


As a HACCP Coordinator, you will lead the FSQA Technicians and ensure effective implementation of food safety and quality assurance system. Reporting to the FSQA Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Production, Maintenance, Shipping & Receiving teams to ensure adherence to FSQA standards at the operations plant. Your responsibilities will encompass reassessing, reviewing and updating key programs as such, HACCP Plan, Hold and Release, Deviation Management, Customer Relations, Environmental Monitoring, and others.



What You Will Be Doing


  • Manage Amir HACCP program which includes maintaining, implementation and verification of procedures, documents, validations, processes and perform reassessment to ensure compliance to standards and regulations.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and interprets data related to Food Safety, Quality Assurance, HACCP Program requirements to ensure they are consistently achieved and making recommendations to FSQA Manager based on findings.
  • Review proposed corrective actions and providing additional guidance and support.
  • Support the execution of the customer and consumer complaints programs including weekly reporting on performance, leading plant investigations, and drafting responses.
  • Coordinate and ensure proper execution of documentation verification program including identification and closure of non-conformances.
  • Participate in annual HACCP review and reassessment with cross functional team and update the program accordingly.
  • Participate in program review, updates, reassessment, and validations.
  • Designate site gatekeeper for the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
  • Coordinate FSQA document management.
  • Deliver FSQA training, including the development of training material and conduct training on food safety and quality requirements.
  • Accountable for preparation and participation in all internal and third-party audits.
  • Support and/or coordinate equipment calibrations (MDs, thermometers, data tracers, etc.).
  • Participate in meetings and projects as an FSQA representative as required.
  • Lead FSQA Technicians, providing back-up support and coverage for FSQA Technicians as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


At a Minimum, You Have

Post-secondary education in Biological, Chemical, or Food Science.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a food safety/quality assurance role in the food industry.
  • Certification in HACCP and Internal Auditing.
  • Understanding of Canadians Regulations and GFSI schemes.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, varying shifts, and holiday work, as required.
  • Willing and able to work in a cold environment.
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbal and written.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Team player who is comfortable collaborating with other departments but also working independently.
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment.
