Industrial Training Leader


Our client, a leading Canadian owned and operated manufacturer of architectural building products in Langley, British Columbia, is currently seeking an Industrial Training Leader immediately on a permanent full-time basis.


Reporting to the Manager of Software Development & Employee Training, you will be overseeing and administering training strategies, role-specific onboarding, training effectiveness tracking, measurement, and evaluation via the Learning Management System (LMS).


Role and Responsibilities:

  • and improves effective manufacturing training program that articulates and adherence to standards and a continuous improvement mindset leading to operational excellence.
  • site-specific technical learning solution creation (SOPs, Guided Workflows, Technical Learning Aids) to assist with effective, proven and tested training program.
  • site-specific training systems are managed and improved regularly including machine skill assessments, feedback, and certification.
  • daily technical training on the floor to assist with the continuous learning of team members in their roles across all shifts.
  • with tracking, evaluating, and measuring training locally using the company’s Dept. Training Standards & Learning System tools.
  • others to be safety minded by operating within the systems processes which are designed with operational excellence focus.
  • with Human Resources leader to support New Hire Orientation/On-Boarding Training, as needed.
  • builds, and maintains relationships with trainees and leaders in their role.
  • duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration / Management, or related field
  • five (5) years conducting/ leading/ developing training programs and experience with a variety of delivery methods (classroom, On-The-Job training, etc.).
  • five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • to evaluate existing processes to identify, and potentially implement improvements.
  • knowledge, experience, and implementation of Learning Management Systems.
  • problem-solving skills.
  • to partner and build relationships to influence teams to work together.
  • communication skills to work on the floor, with all shifts, in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Office experience required – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Forms.
