Instructional Designer

  • Location : Hybrid - Vaughan, ON


Summary:

The Instructional Designer will play a crucial role in the development of our educational materials and training programs. Working closely with subject matter experts, content developers, and other stakeholders, the Instructional Designer will design, develop, and implement instructional content that meets the needs of our target audience and aligns with our learning objectives. This role requires a creative thinker with a strong understanding of instructional design principles, learning theories, and instructional technologies.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs, define learning objectives, project requirements, and desired outcomes.
  • and develop engaging and interactive instructional materials, including e-learning modules, videos, simulations, assessments, and other multimedia content.
  • instructional design principles and learning theories to create effective learning experiences that promote learner engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Adult Learning principles to select optimal training delivery methods, including eLearning, Self-Paced Training, Instructor-Led Training, Virtual Instructor-Led Training, or Micro-Learning.
  • Utilize the ADDIE Model or similar methodologies to develop high-quality training content aligned to organizational imperatives that contribute to business goals and project requirements.
  • Manage content in a centralized repository for training purposes and ongoing support.
  • with cross-functional teams to manage project timelines, and deliverables.
  • curriculum design principles and standards that ensure both consistency, flexibility, and sustainability of learning materials.

  • Management methodologies and tools for timely, budget-friendly, and scope-compliant project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience highlighting a combination of program management, instructional design, and facilitation.
  • Experience in instructional design and e-learning development, preferably in a corporate or educational setting.
  • Expertise in developing web-based training materials using Articulate 360, Adobe Suite, Camtasia and Vyond.
  • With course authoring software such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite, Video Editing Software such as Vyond, Camtasia and Learning Management Systems.
  • Strong interest in growth and knowledge in the realm of adult learning theory and learning technologies.
  • Create learning materials to include facilitator/instructor and participant manuals, assessments, certification plans, job aids and other documentation and follow up tools.
  • A logical thinker who can identify gaps and inconsistencies well enough to ask good follow-up questions to a subject matter expert.
  • Written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail, including the ability and willingness to work within fixed constraints.
  • and responsive, understand and adapt to change to provide the highest quality of service and to manage multiple priorities & deadlines.
