Full Job Description

Responsibilities

Reporting to Lead of Mechanical Engineering, the Mechanical Intermediate Engineer is responsible for the following:

  • Provide Mechanical engineering as assigned with ability to stamp engineering designs and specifications within the applicable jurisdiction;
  • Review, approve and stamp Mechanical engineered work packages as required;
  • Provide leadership and engineering mentorship to mechanical team;
  • Lead engineering activities to meet KPI’s, safety, budgets, scope, schedule, and quality standards;
  • Plan, organize, direct, assign, monitor and coordinate activities, work, resources and tools to meet VTEK business objectives consistently;
  • Ensure any engineering work package issued, regardless of phase, is complete, and verified,
  • Ensure technical accuracy, and soundness of the method applied to engineering calculations, compliance to regulatory requirements, as it applies to project deliverables and owner requirements;
  • Coordinate its work with all stakeholders to deliver an integrated engineering work package;
  • Assist to provide the governance, to establish and implement VTEK policies, standards, procedures for its Electrical & Instrumentation engineering and design team;
  • Identify, during review, technical problems and resolve them accordingly;
  • Participate in the design of plans, specifications and details based on recommendations from the API 653 Inspection Report as part of a Petroleum Storage Tank Repair Project;
  • Carry out verification and validation calculations, and ensure that the plans meet the client's requirements as well as the requirements of the codes and other regulations;
  • Participate in the verification and production of bidding documents and MSR’s;
  • Provide engineering mitigation strategies to any risks or issues;



Qualifications


  • 10+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer;
  • Min 5 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry;
  • Canadian P. Eng. Title strongly preferred;
  • Good knowledge of API 650 and 653
  • Strong interpersonal skills and negotiation skills.
  • Good Customer relations.
  • Strong ability to influence people, building trust and credibility.
