Full Job Description

Are you passionate about serving youth? Do you desire to use your gifts in ministry? The Peace Country Program Coordinator’s primary objective is to assist the Affiliate Director in meeting the needs of the youth in the communities of the Peace Country by equipping volunteers to run relevant programs and by inviting others into the journey through partnership. This position will provide support and leadership to volunteers who are reaching the youth of the Peace Country with God’s love.

This full-time position reports to the Peace Country Youth Unlimited | YFC Affiliate Director.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
  1. Is a faithful and contributing member of a local church.
  2. Pray for and with YFC Canada team.
  3. Spend time in spiritual reflection and development.
  4. Take an annual spiritual retreat at Honeymoon Bay Retreat Centre.
  5. Completion of the YFC Canada Credentialing process within 2 years of start date.
  6. Attend YFC Regional and National conferences.
  7. Participate in training and development courses, conferences and workshops as approved by supervisor.
 
DIRECT MINISTRY
  1. Survey the needs of youth in the community and seek ways to meet them.
  2. Develop programs to meet these needs.
  3. Work in partnership with area Youth Workers, Youth Ministries, and other like-minded partners to reach our evangelism and outreach goals, including challenging and equipping Christian youth to reach out to their peers.
  4. Connect with and strive to network with principals, teachers, and resource agencies in the area whenever possible.
 
PROGRAMS/VOLUNTEERS
  1. Equip volunteers to work in the communities with youth.
  2. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.
  3. Assist with the planning and operations of Room 27 Youth Centre.
  4. Be actively working to create and maintain partnerships with local schools in Peace Country.
  5. Invest in the health and resiliency of volunteers.
 
ORGANIZATION / ADMINISTRATIVE
  1. Meet regularly (Skype, Call, Face to face) with supervisor.
  2. Keep records of Ministry activities and events.
  3. Attend monthly YFC Canada staff calls.
  4. Help create and maintain social media content.
 
PERSONAL PARTNER DEVELOPMENT
  1. Personal partnership development – which includes securing and maintaining a sound base of financial & prayer partners to a level sufficient to fund the salary and immediate costs of this position.
  2. Establish a Ministry Partner Development Plan and keeping regular contact with ministry partners through a news/prayer letter, visits, phone calls, etc.
