Job Description

SGS is currently seeking a Senior Technical Recruiter who specializes in the Oil & Gas space . The successful incumbent will be an integral part of the Technical Staffing Service (TSS) team working to exceed business targets by placing independent contractors and employees with our clients in a fast paced, high volume environment.

This position requires an independent, driven individual who is comfortable interacting with clients and passionate about recruiting, identifying, and maintaining relationships with passive and active candidates to build a strong professional network.

A flexible work arrangement is available and allows this role to work from home and office.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Identify, recruit, and place mid and senior level inspection and engineering personnel, with an emphasis on the Oil & Gas Upstream, Midstream and Downstream markets, including Exploration & Production, EPCs, Pipeline, and Integrated Oil Companies, Power and Utilities, Engineering, Infrastructure, Mining
  • Understand customer expectations and technical job requirements and clearly communicate these expectations and requirements to contractors; ensure that proposed contractors meet the SGS standard and hold the necessary requirements and/or technical background needed to effectively perform the job for the client
  • Arrange interviews, meetings or phone calls with hires for updates on procedure changes, review existing protocol, discuss problems and focus on performance and quality of service.
  • Monitor and continually improve the quality and performance of TSS contractors 
  • Negotiate contractor fees with the goal of meeting a commercial margin.
  • Receive and review applications, managing interviews and tests and creating a shortlist of candidates for the customers.
  • Request references and check the suitability of applicants before submitting their details to the client.
  • Prepare CV’s and correspondence to forward to clients in respect of suitable applicants
  • Utilize online recruitment tools such as LinkedIn, Indeed and other job boards.
  • Continuously expand your network using a variety of methods i.e. Referrals, Linked-in, Career Fairs, cold calls, etc.

Also, as required, be available to receive Contractor phone calls in the evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Communications, Human Resources Management, Business Administration)
  • Minimum 2 years Associated Degree - College

Experience

  • 5 or more years of experience preferred in the related field (Inspection, Oil and Gas, Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of direct staffing agency recruitment experience
  • Experience managing client portfolio of 200+ employees/independent contractors simultaneously

Required Skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under time pressure to meet customer deadlines
  • Proficiency in online recruitment tools such as LinkedIn and other job boards
  • Proficiency in the use of Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Strong communication skills, including cold calling  and networking
  • Ability to negotiate rates
  • Professional, high standards in personal presentation
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Extended hours may be required from time to time
  • Travel to other SGS locations or client locations may be required from time to time
