Multy Home LP is a leading global manufacturer of floor covering and outdoor living products. With manufacturing and distribution facilities in Canada, Poland and the U.S.A. We are committed to sourcing sustainable or recycled material wherever possible in our production. Every year, Multy Home diverts 3 million tires and 15 million water bottles from landfill. We create beautiful, eco-friendly, useful products for homes and gardens everywhere.


Position Summary: The Director Supply Chain and Distribution is responsible for oversight of forecasting, supply planning, procurement, scheduling, 3rd party manufacturing management, storage, and transportation of Multy Home products. This is a key role in the organization responsible for building talent, culture, and process within the supply chain team. Requiring a hands-on, detailed and strategic leadership style.


Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


Supply Chain Strategy& Design:

  • Collaborate with leaders in Sales, Category Management, Manufacturing to design the lowest cost supply chain including make vs buy analysis and the optimal locations to source/ make, store, and distribute products.
  • Contribute to and implement strategies in supply chain, distribution and transportation aligned with overall business strategy.
  • Define, manage, analyze, maintain, and report on Key Performance Indicators for Supply Chain
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to develop the optimal source of inhouse production vs vendor supplied inventory or lowest total delivered cost
  • Define, manage, analyze ,maintain, and report on Key Performance Indicators for Supply Chain



Demand and Supply Planning:

  • Oversee the Demand Planning and Supply Planning teams to drive improvements in talent, process, and systems to increase forecast accuracy and fill rates while reducing costs of procurement and inventory.
  • Implement a Sales & Operations Planning process that drives a decision-making process to balance demand and supply at the category level and integrate into financial and operating plans.
  • Oversee the supply planning team as they manage vendor capacity and inventory pre-builds.
  • Execute and improve the master production planning, material requirements planning and scheduling and procurement processes, so plants and vendors have an efficient production schedule and all Multy Home supplied materials.
  • Manage the capacity and allocate Multy Home injection molds between vendors to meet customer fill rate requirements at lowest cost
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to develop the optimal source of inhouse production vs vendor supplied inventory or lowest total delivered cost
  • Work with inhouse manufacturing and vendors to improve schedule attainment, vendor fill rate and total delivered cost
  • Oversee the inventory management processes to prevent and take corrective action on slow moving or aging inventory.


Order Management:


Oversee the Order Fulfilment specialist and communicate to sales actions required to maximize sales due to order accuracy issues, inventory shortages, delayed customer transportation pick- up’s,



Warehousing / Distribution:

  • Oversee both company and third-party warehouses throughout North America for customer service and cost.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and resources to enable improvements in warehouse productivity, capacity utilization, throughout, inventory accuracy,
  • Plan and obtain warehouse capacity to meet company requirements.
  • Source and negotiate for any new third-party warehouses and manage performance of existing 3rd party warehouses.
  • Coach and provide direction to the leadership of the internal warehouses on improvement in customer service, cost, safety and employee development / engagement.



Transportation & Trade Compliance:

  • Oversee the Transportation group, providing leadership and direction to improve customer service and cost through talent, processes, systems, vendor management and network design for freight with ocean containers, and over the road and rail in North America
  • Oversee and provides direction on processes to procure and execute on freight, to obtain the best service at the lowest cost
  • Oversee the trade compliance activities – duties, Harmonized Item Description and Coding System (HS)



People leadership:

  • Lead, develop and mentor all direct reports; conduct performance management reviews on time provide meaningful feedback; establish goals and objectives for each team member in alignment with the broader organizations focus.
  • Develop the Create and/or maintain an accurate and up to date skills development roadmap and competency model to support evolving business needs for both soft and technical skills.
  • Conduct all work duties as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, the health, safety& environmental policies, and Quality policies as established by Multy Home.
  • Perform other assignments given by the Department Management.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.



Directly lead a team of five employees.

  • Order Fulfillment Specialist
  • Distribution manager
  • Transportation manager


Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a business-related field and 10+ years experience in Supply Chain

management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within Supply Chain

Formal education in Supply Chain management

Experience in injection molding or rubber industry preferred

Majority of experience in a manufacturing environment that services retail accounts

Experience with unionized employees preferred

Proven ability to think strategically and implement plans

Clearly exhibits In-depth knowledge of planning, inventory management and supply chain analysis

Proven leadership, team building and change management skills
