Job DescriptionAccountabilities:
- Dispensing and distribution of medications (including individual patient prescriptions, ward stock and narcotics), non-sterile and sterile compounding (including TPN, CIVA and chemotherapy preparation) inventory control
- Other duties as assigned
- Currently licensed Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Hospital experience preferred
- Registration with the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians preferred
- Experience with CIVA and/or chemotherapy preparation considered an asset
- Excellent oral, interpersonal and written skills
- Computer experience preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
- Experience in the manufacturing of sterile and non-sterile products preferred
- May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites
- Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
Additional Information
Hours: Currently days/evenings, eight hour shifts including weekend and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
This is an On-Site role
SALARY:
Minimum: $31.33 per hour
Maximum: $38.60 per hour

Site: Credit Valley Hospital ( Mississauga) and Reactivation Care Center (Toronto)
Shift: 7.5 hours/shift or 10.75 hours/shift for overnight coverage

- Gather information from multiple sources to complete the Best Possible Medication History of the patient.
- Duties as a Pharmacy Technician, in a computerized automated Unit Dose setting along with , repackaging, intravenous admixing including chemotherapy
- In collaboration with other Pharmacy Technicians, you will deliver appropriate teaching to pharmacy students

Knowledge & Experience Required:
- Certificate/Diploma for Pharmacy Technician
- Registered, Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)
- Preceptor training with OCP is an asset
- Membership with the Canadian Associate of Pharmacy Technicians (C.A.P.T), preferred
- Experience in a hospital pharmacy, preferred
- Sound working knowledge of computer applications i.e. Meditech and Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle a variety of complex tasks and issues promptly and efficiently while maintaining accuracy and meeting conflicting deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience in providing exceptional patient centred care
- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
Your primary site initially will be Credit Valley Hospital however, you may periodically be required to work at another THP site and therefore periodic travel between sites may be necessary.

Assisting pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and management of prescriptions

Qualifications:
