Responsibilities:
- Provide financial leadership and support to the AC Fuel branch in the ongoing management of their business activities including Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting. This would include developing a strong understanding of the dynamics of fuel sourcing, pricing, and consumption. This includes staying abreast of economic and industry developments.
- Develop and implement Financial Performance Indicators for a better understanding of the cause-and- effect relationship of costs and to assure the efficiency and the performance of the branch
- Deliver value added service to internal customers by identifying, and evaluating profitability enhancing opportunities and strategies, internal process changes and new cost savings opportunities. Includes coordinating with fuel accounting operations to ensure and improve upon accuracy of results.
- Working with senior management teams, develop and recommend financial goals, objectives and strategy aligned with the Corporation's overall financial plan, including as they relate to ESG initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance of the Fuel Division against forecast and ensure corrective actions are undertaken as required; perform post-evaluations of projects/programs as appropriate to assess actual versus target results
- Work with various client groups, both within the Finance branch and across the company, to guide, develop and/or improve business decision-making processes, models and tools. Develop strong relationships with various internal clients and work closely to drive improved financial performance.
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of activities/issues/trends pertaining to the airline industry domestically and internationally, as well as aircraft economics
- Perform the development of complex benchmarking studies with other carriers.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Finance with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience
- Graduate studies (MBA or master’s in finance) and/ or an accounting/a financial designation (CPA/CMA/CGA /CFA) would be a definite asset
- Excellent understanding of cost accounting principles, financial evaluation techniques and statistical analysis
- Very strong business and analytical skills

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to support structural analysis activities for reactor pressure vessel and internal components in the advanced nuclear business. You will work closely with a diverse technical team to perform engineering analyses that demonstrate compliance with the ASME BPVC Section III and generate dynamic loads due to seismic and large pipe break. This position provides the opportunity to work on safety-critical components and contribute to the development and deployment of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technologies. - Execute the analysis of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Perform structural and stress analyses for reactor pressure vessels and internal components using finite element analysis (FEA) tools and closed-form equations.
- Develop and run ANSYS models to evaluate both mechanical and thermal stresses under various service level conditions.
- Support engineering evaluations to demonstrate compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III requirements, with primary focus on Subsections NG and NB.
- Generate dynamic loads for the reactor pressure vessel due to earthquake and large pipe break.
- Prepare technical reports, calculation packages, and documentation supporting regulatory and design requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, system engineers, project managers, and external partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience performing structural analysis, internship may be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting finite element analysis (FEA), including evaluation of mechanical and thermal loadings under both static and transient conditions, preferably using ANSYS Workbench or APDL. Internship may be considered.

The CLaws team is responsible for the design, development, testing and certification of the Fly-by-Wire (FBW) flight control laws for the next generation Bombardier aircraft which at present includes the Global 7000/8000 business jet and the Ecojet Blended Wing body (BWB) experimental aircraft. **What are your contributions to the team?**
+ Write requirements for existing experimental model-based CLaws to meet functional requirements and in accordance to the DO-178B standard and SAE ARP 4754
+ Perform CLaws validation and verification (V&V) for a new experimental primary flight computer
+ If needed, update the Claws design model as well as the corresponding assessment tools using Matlab and C++ programming

**Mechanical Engineering, Pressure Boundary & Analysis**
We are looking for a **Mechanical Engineering, Pressure Boundary & Analysis** for our Peterborough, Ontario site. BWXT NEC's Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group is involved in the design, manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold around the world. We are the original designer of the automated systems that allow 24/7 on power refueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industry's most challenging problems. Today, BWXT's equipment is being used in most of the nuclear power plants in Canada and is critical to delivering carbon free energy production and lifesaving medical isotopes.

**Our Role:**
Reporting to the Pressure Boundary & Analysis Engineering Manager. Responsibilities of the engineer performing this role include setting the technical direction for the overall project and acting as a technical interface point to both internal and external customers. Pressure Boundary & Analysis Engineering is a Mechanical Engineering function that largely focuses on the design and analysis aspects of pressure-retaining systems and components for CANDU reactors. The Pressure Boundary & Analysis Engineering group is responsible for the design, analysis, regulatory requirements, development and test of pressure boundary equipment for automated and semi-automated fueling machines, medical isotope systems, robotic systems, and maintenance tooling for nuclear reactors and related systems. This includes but not limited to concept design, detailed design, design calculations, stress analysis, design reports, design specifications, overpressure protection reports, assessments, studies, technical documentation preparation, and manufacturing, test, commissioning, maintenance and operational support.

**Your Day to Day:**
+ Provide execution of design/analysis/test/commissioning activities for complex mechanical equipment and systems throughout the entire product life cycle.
+ Preparation or approval of design documentation (including technical documents, drawings and BOMs), technical specifications, development and test plans, and engineering quotations.
+ 3D modelling for the purposes of conceptual design, and performing stress analysis
+ Application of design for manufacturability/assembly (DFMA) techniques
+ Provide technical support to CAD, Procurement, Manufacturing, Test, Quality and Commissioning and Service personnel.
+ Participate in internal and external meetings, such as design reviews, preparing and presenting technical data.
+ Utilize classical and modern (finite element analysis) stress calculation techniques to perform stress analysis for components, piping systems, supports, and vessels.
+ Maintain working knowledge of the nuclear codes and standards applicable to the Canadian Nuclear environment.
+ Key success factors are engineering and product excellence, effective design activity management, task/milestone completion on-time/on-budget, producing defect free designs, meeting your metrics, motivating a diverse team, managing and achieving results through influencing and setting of expectations/actions.
+ Leading by example, assure compliance and adherence to processes (including internal Business Management System), industry codes and standards, quality systems, policies, and contractual requirements.
+ Support process change through process enhancement, and technology introduction to achieve world-class product development and product deployment.
+ Support customer relationships and ensure market alignment. This position requires interaction with external customers, subcontractors, and cross functional internal teams.
+ May support proposal development and review including scope review, estimating as well as technical presentations to the customer.
+ Learn to identify project risks, analyze solutions, and take decisive action to resolve issues and communicate these to the leadership team.
+ Provide assurance of health and safety associated with the execution of all projects and activities.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
+ Working towards a PEO license
+ Over 3 years of experience in design engineering in Nuclear, Aerospace, Mining, Oil and Gas, or other highly regulated and process based design.
+ Some ability to support leadership on engineering projects over their complete EPC life cycles with little support.
+ Understanding of a range of interdisciplinary activities; systems design, requirements development, interface design, manufacturing and testing.
+ Understanding of a broad range of interdisciplinary departments: systems, l&C, software design and manufacturing.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills, understandable by a diverse audience.
+ Creative problem-solving skills, outstanding analytical abilities, developing leadership skills and the ability to work in a team.

+ Flexibility to work remotely on short-term customer site assignment.

**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Experience with 3D CAD software (preference for Inventor/Solidworks) and FEA software (ANSYS APDL & Workbench, Caesar II, PEPS, AutoPIPE).
+ Experience in the CANDU Nuclear Industry.
+ Familiarity with CSA Nuclear Codes and Standards.
+ Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and Standards.
+ Knowledge of process system, pressure vessel or pressure boundary component design

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $73,000 and $109,000 per year. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
