**Who will you be working with?** Bach-Simpson is the lead Event Recorder OEM in the North American Transit market. It designs, develops, and maintains various electronic equipment for trains. The monitoring team in this division is responsible for the Bach-Simpson monitoring products and projects. **How will you make a difference?** As a Specialist - Electronics Engineering and member of the monitoring team in Bach-Simpson, you will report to the Products Line Manager, and you will be responsible for the design, commissioning, and technical support of Transit and Locomotive electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems of varying size and complexity, under the direction of more senior team members. **What do we want to know about you?** The following are the required qualifications for this role:

**What will your typical day look like?** The following are essential responsibilities for this role:

- Conduct rigorous system-level analysis, including thermal management, EMI/EMC considerations, and reliability studies.
- Create comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, layout guidelines, test plans, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (mechanical, firmware, software) in a remote environment to ensure seamless product integration.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level power electronics engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Stay at the forefront of power electronics technology, researching and evaluating new components, materials, and techniques.
- Provide expert technical consultation and support to manufacturing, quality assurance, and field support teams.
- Drive the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in the design and development of high-performance power electronic systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in power converter topologies, control algorithms, and magnetic component design.
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as SPICE, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, and PCB design software.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor devices, gate drive circuits, and thermal management techniques.
- Proven experience leading complex projects from concept through to production.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, essential for remote collaboration and mentoring.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced, remote setting.
- Published research or patents in the field of power electronics is highly desirable.
- Experience with high-voltage systems and renewable energy applications is a plus.
