On a daily basis you will have to:
  • Act as a civil/structural technical lead for various mandates in the energy, mining, manufacturing and construction sectors.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the client.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering
  • Member of a provincial Professional Engineering Association (APEGA, APEGS, and/or EGBC).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in structures (preferably in the industrial field).

Your Opportunity
As a Mechanical Engineer in our Moncton office, you will work independently on small and average sized projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. Key Responsibilities
Engineering and Technical Design
- Lead the design and development of fire protection systems for building projects, ensuring safety, code compliance, and system performance.

We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our Markham office, with consideration for any location across Canada. You will be part of the Water Resources Technical Team within Stantec's Environmental Services Business Line, contributing to a wide range of water resources projects with a focus on mine water management. As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will have the potential to lead projects involving hydraulic and hydrologic modelling, mine water management infrastructure design and planning, water balance and water quality models, erosion and sediment control, fish passage design, stream restoration, water quality analysis, flood hazard assessments, dam breach assessments, and much more. We are a passionate team who support our clients across Canada in addressing mine water quantity and quality issues.
Your Key Responsibilities
This role involves working within multidisciplinary teams on baseline and impact assessments, feasibility studies, hydrologic and hydraulic assessments, water balance and water quality models, and water quality investigations. You will manage complex scopes of work alongside hydrologists, hydrotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists, geotechnical engineers, mining engineers, aquatic biologists and directly engage with clients. Strong hydrology and hydraulics expertise is essential.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Lead and manage mine water resources management projects throughout the life of mine phases (project economic assessments to closure plans), including - Baseline studies and water management design and planning, and water balance and/or water quality model development in support of NI 43-101 studies, including as a Qualified Person
- Surface water resources studies and assessments in support of environmental assessments, including baseline water quality and hydrology studies, water management infrastructure design and planning, site-wide water balance and water quality model development
- Mine closure planning and studies supporting studies.
- Technical lead for design of water management infrastructure, including sedimentation ponds, drainage ditches, dewatering plans, erosion and sediment control plans, watercourse crossings and alterations, watercourse diversions and
- Provide technical leadership within multidisciplinary teams (e.g., water quality specialists, hydrogeologists, geochemists, and engineers), coordinating inputs and integrating findings into defensible recommendations.
- Oversee project budgets, staff allocation, and invoice preparation and review
- Prepare proposals, develop work plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage projects and tasks
- Author clear and comprehensive technical reports documenting modeling results, field investigations and analytical findings
- Design and supervise hydrological and water quality field investigations
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to contribute to project success
- Apply industry standards, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks consistently
- Perform primarily office-based work involving extended computer use and data analysis

Your Responsibilities:
As a Senior Process Engineer, you will be a key technical pillar and play a critical role in the success of projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Engineering and Design
  • Participate in the definition, planning, and development of concepts (conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering).
  • Establish design bases and technical criteria for projects.
  • Perform or supervise:
    • mass and energy balances,
    • process simulations,
    • P&ID development,
    • hydraulic calculations,
    • equipment and piping selection and sizing,
    • pressure safety valve (PSV) sizing and specification.
Quality and Coordination
  • Ensure the technical quality of process deliverables.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate process engineers.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary activities and ensure technical consistency across teams.
  • Work closely with project managers and clients.
Management and Client Relations
  • Plan and monitor hour budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to business development for clients in Eastern Canada.
  • Act as the main point of contact for certain clients on process-related matters.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Member of the Order of Engineers of the province
  • Experience in the oil and gas (refining) sector is an asset
  • Experience in consulting engineering or project execution is an asset
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of small to large-scale projects with fast turnaround (typically 6 to 16 weeks)
  • Bilingual: French and English (spoken and written) is an asset
  • Availability for occasional travel within Canada (a few days up to 2 weeks)

Our client, a renowned company in the energy industry in New Brunswick, is currently seeking a Construction supervisor to fill a 31 months contract.

Summary:
The Construction Manager acts on behalf of our client and is responsible for planning and execution of work at the construction site. This includes managing all site activities, conducting site meetings and regular reporting to the Project Manager. A Construction Manager is typically assigned to larger or more complex projects.

Primary workplace is office on site in Upper Coverdale, NB


More specifically, you will be responsible for:

•Responsible for planning site mobilization.
•Responsible for planning construction execution.
•Directs, manages and coordinates all activities on site.
•Conducts regular site meetings.
•Supervises contractors on site.
•Coordinates with Materials Planner to arrange for materials to be provided to a contractor by the client.
•Monitors, evaluates and reports progress against construction schedule.
•Ensures quality of the work and deficiency identification and correction.
•Works with site leads to identify required materials and equipment, coordinating with material planner and workgroup supervisors.
•Ensures safety and security of site.
•Regular progress reporting to Project Manager.
•Identifies change requests. If no impact to scope, cost or schedule, deals with change. Otherwise change requests escalated to Project Manager.
•Responsible for enforcing Field Change Authorization process with on-site contractors.
•May be responsible for communicating with landowners and stakeholders where required.
•Ensures that any environmental and quality control protection requirements on site are carried out.
•Assists Project Manager with project closeout activities.

Qualifications:

•Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in a leadership role within construction projects.
•A minimum of eight (8) years’ field experience in an industrial environment.
•Possession of a valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• Relevant experience with preference given to our client specific construction
management.
• Experience in excess of five (5) years of progressively responsible work
experience in a leadership role within construction projects.
• Experience in excess of eight (8) years’ field experience in an industrial
environment.
• Proficiency in document creation and editing (Microsoft Office Products such
as Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel).

Key Competencies Preferences
• Well-developed interpersonal skills are necessary in order to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing requirements to a wide range of client groups (internal and external).
• Skilled in coaching of co-workers and contractors, negotiation, mediation of disputes or differences of opinion and conflict resolution.
• Self-motivated, ability to work independently or in a team environment and provide leadership, support, direction, and consultation to a wide range of people.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives with strong organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
• Willing to travel, participate in activities, network and build relationships.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to organize, analyze and report on various parameters and data sets.
• Ability to learn to use new tools and adapt existing tools to the task at hand.
• Ability to communicate in both English and French would be considered an asset.
• Ability to proactively detect challenges to safety, quality, cost and schedule that will ensure development and execution of effective prevention, mitigation, or corrective actions.
