We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Mississauga, ON).

+ Hourly wage: **$44.81 to $48.62** , in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Placement within the wage range will be determined based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
+ Premium of **$2.00 per hour** for hours worked on refuse packers, chemical waste vehicles (excluding new units), and motor homes.
+ Premium of **$2.25 per hour** for hours worked on transit buses.

+ Rotational **4 x 10-hour day shift** .

This 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) performs major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls/rebuilds in a timely manner; ensuring quality, time standards, customer expectations, cost guidelines and reliability goals are met. The 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and mentors other Ryder technicians on a regular basis. The 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) provides the highest level of experience and expertise in vehicle diagnostics and repair. The position also plays a key role in the leadership, development and training of other grade technicians. The 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) may specialize in areas such as: refrigeration, electronics, exhaust systems, etc., and should possess a combination of extensive vehicle transportation experience, ASE certifications, and/or multiple Ryder Qualifications.

**Shifts:** 2-week rotating shift: Dayshift is M to F, 6:30am to 3:00pm, Afternoon shift is M to F, 2:30pm to 11:00pm

**Essential Functions**
+ Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties upon Tire and Wheel, Brakes-Air, Brakes-Hydraulic, A/C, Heater & Refrigeration, Cargo Handling/Transfer, Liftgates, Cranking System: (Electrical), Lighting System, Electrical Accessories, Clutch, Cooling Systems, Drive Axles, Drive Line, Diesel and Gas Engines - All Engines, Fuel Systems, Steering and Non-Driven Axles, Suspension-Chassis And Cab, Vehicle Coupling System (PM) etc.
+ Coaches/mentors other level technicians
+ Advise shop management and other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.
+ Performs facility maintenance duties.
+ Utilizes key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation available.
+ Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, dot, mot)
+ Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to service island support.
**Skills and Abilities**
+ Strong mechanical skills. Ability to demonstrate proficiency with advanced diagnostics, overhaul and repair of all vehicle components and systems. Perform all entry level tasks, road test vehicles as necessary
+ Ability to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Highly thorough and dependable. Available for on call duty and work shift work/weekend
+ Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
+ Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
+ Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
+ Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills

**Qualifications**
+ H.S. diploma/GED preferred
+ Vocational or Technical Certification preferred Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications
+ Basic tools, required
+ Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:- Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work- Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems,- Advanced skilled level repairs to include some major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs required
+ Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
+ Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.advanced required
+ Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
+ All other certification as required by location, required
