Completes troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop independently while coaching and developing less experienced technicians
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Mississauga, ON).
Will make an impact in the following ways:

+ Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
+ Completes complex internal engine repairs
+ Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls
+ Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

+ Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
**Position:** Truck and Coach Technician (310T)
**Required Qualifications**
+ Valid Ontario Truck and Coach (310T) License is mandatory for this position.
+ Minimum of five (5) years of Truck and Coach repair experience.
**Compensation**
+ Hourly wage: **$44.81 to $48.62** , in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Placement within the wage range will be determined based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
+ Premium of **$2.00 per hour** for hours worked on refuse packers, chemical waste vehicles (excluding new units), and motor homes.
+ Premium of **$2.25 per hour** for hours worked on transit buses.
**Schedule**
+ Rotational **4 x 10-hour day shift** .
+ Weekdays only, consisting of four (4) workdays scheduled between Monday and Friday.
+ Shift hours: **7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.**
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Previous experience working on Cummins engines is considered an asset.
+ Previous bumper-to-bumper Truck and Coach repair experience is considered an asset.

+ Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal supervision. Repairs include brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission and other repairs.
+ Removal and reinstalment of mechanical components with minimal supervision.
+ Participate in 90-day preventative maintenance inspection program, safety inspections and annual maintenance inspections.
+ Issue semiannual and annual MTO certificates using Drive On program
+ Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately using individual tablets. Maintain records of all maintenance work completed including parts and supplies used.
+ Evaluate completed work and seek approval where required.
+ Occasionally engage in road calls and emergency services as necessary.

The Opportunity

Responsible for providing quality workmanship, consistent service, and technical knowledge to the customers. This 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) performs major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls/rebuilds in a timely manner; ensuring quality, time standards, customer expectations, cost guidelines and reliability goals are met. The 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and mentors other Ryder technicians on a regular basis. The 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) provides the highest level of experience and expertise in vehicle diagnostics and repair. The position also plays a key role in the leadership, development and training of other grade technicians. The 310T Licensed Mechanic/Technician ( T4 ) may specialize in areas such as: refrigeration, electronics, exhaust systems, etc., and should possess a combination of extensive vehicle transportation experience, ASE certifications, and/or multiple Ryder Qualifications.

**Essential Functions**
+ Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties upon Tire and Wheel, Brakes-Air, Brakes-Hydraulic, A/C, Heater & Refrigeration, Cargo Handling/Transfer, Liftgates, Cranking System: (Electrical), Lighting System, Electrical Accessories, Clutch, Cooling Systems, Drive Axles, Drive Line, Diesel and Gas Engines - All Engines, Fuel Systems, Steering and Non-Driven Axles, Suspension-Chassis And Cab, Vehicle Coupling System (PM) etc.
+ Coaches/mentors other level technicians
+ Advise shop management and other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.
+ Performs facility maintenance duties.
+ Utilizes key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation available.
+ Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, dot, mot)
+ Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to service island support.
**Skills and Abilities**
+ Strong mechanical skills. Ability to demonstrate proficiency with advanced diagnostics, overhaul and repair of all vehicle components and systems. Perform all entry level tasks, road test vehicles as necessary
+ Ability to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Highly thorough and dependable. Available for on call duty and work shift work/weekend
+ Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
+ Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

**Qualifications**
+ H.S. diploma/GED preferred
+ Vocational or Technical Certification preferred Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications
+ Basic tools, required
+ Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:- Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work- Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems,- Advanced skilled level repairs to include some major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs required
+ Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
+ Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.advanced required
+ Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
