The Manulife Affinity Markets Sales team, in collaboration with financial advisors across the country, offers a suite of creative insurance solutions, including health & dental, travel insurance, as well as simplified issue critical illness, and disability products.
***The position is primarily home‑based, with an expectation of spending up to 40% of the time in the field, requiring travel across British Columbia and Alberta**
**How will you create impact?**
As an External Affinity Wholesaler, you will manage the Western Sales region (British Columbia and Alberta) and will be responsible for evolving existing advisor relationships and cultivating new ones, always with the goal of promoting client-centric solutions that increase Affinity Markets sales at Manulife. **Responsibilities**
+ Expertly promote the suite of Manulife Affinity Insurance solutions (Health & Dental, Travel, simple-issue Disability and Critical Illness insurance) to our top advisors.
+ Actively identify opportunities and activities to support and grow advisors' businesses.
+ Develop, analyze & refine strategies and tactics to achieve/exceed sales targets.
+ Assist in developing and implementing plans designed to provide "best in class" marketing support and new sales ideas to advisors.
+ Build and maintain relationships with key advisors and Intermediaries while creating professional working relationships with other Manulife field partners.
+ Consistently maintain agreed upon levels of face-to-face contact with advisors in the sales territory and record daily activities using Salesforce.com.
+ Conduct sales and marketing meetings and seminars with advisors and Intermediaries (e.g.: MGA staff) to train on Manulife Affinity solutions and approved sales and marketing concepts, as well as assist in developing sales opportunities with new and existing clients.
+ As a trusted partner, raise any service-related issues on behalf of advisors when they arise.
+ Develop and share best practices, sales, marketing and business development ideas with peers and advisors.

+ Perform front line business risk management function through awareness, support and implementation of compliance and company policies with advisors, including supervision of sales-related activities.

Reporting to the AVP Complex Claims, you will take a lead role in investigating, evaluating, and resolving complex claims, providing technical guidance to internal and external colleagues, and contributing to process improvements that enhance our customer experience and operational performance. You will also act as a subject matter expert, helping to develop and mentor other claims professionals.

**What you will do**
- Manage single and multi party personal and commercial claims of moderate to high complexity within delegated authority, delivering a customer centric service.
- Accurately document and maintain claim files in line with best practices and Zurich policies.
- Investigate claims by gathering facts, applying applicable law and negligence principles, and determining liability and coverage.
- Develop and execute case strategies, including evaluations, action plans, timely escalation, reserving, and damage assessments to achieve efficient resolution.
- Negotiate settlements within authority limits using appropriate strategies, tools, and resources.
- Ensure quality and compliance with internal guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support customer marketing and client relationship activities as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with claims policies, procedures, systems, and processes.
- Analyze data to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and recommendations for the claims function.
- Drive system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer service.
- Provide technical guidance and act as a subject matter expert on complex cases, helping to establish precedents and improve outcomes.
- Build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on claims issues.
- Serve as a technical reference point for the team and internal customers, maintaining up to date expertise to support operational claims handling.
- Coach, mentor, and support team members' development.
**Job Qualifications - What you bring to the table**
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience in Casualty Claims.
OR
- Juris Doctor (JD) and 3 or more years of experience in Casualty Claims
AND
- Must obtain and retain Quebec Claims Adjuster license (AMF) (Commerical Lines)
- Fluency in both spoken and written French
- For Quebec candidates: Fluency in both spoken and written English is required to facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec.
- Strong Communication and Analytical Tools
- Proficiency with office 365 Tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in Casualty Claims
- Proven ability to manage complex workloads and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment and across work groups
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to coach, and provide technical guidance to other claims professionals

The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $131,000. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors like office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications.
