**Job Description**
The Field Welder will install welded, fitted, and fabricated custom projects and miscellaneous metal components on client sites. This role focuses on welding lighter gauge metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel, and installing unique, one-off pieces in the field. You will contribute to both field and shop work, supporting custom projects that require precision, creativity, and problem-solving.
**Responsibilities**
+ Install welded, fitted, and fabricated custom projects and miscellaneous metal objects on client sites.
+ Perform daily welding work with lighter gauge metals, including carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
+ Weld custom and one-off items to meet unique client specifications and project requirements.
+ Carry out MIG, TIG, and flux core welding in accordance with project needs and applicable standards.
+ Fabricate and fit metal components to ensure proper alignment, structural integrity, and clean finishes.
+ Perform grinding and finishing work on welded parts to achieve required quality and appearance.
+ Install unique and custom pieces in the field, ensuring accurate placement and secure attachment.
+ Operate zoom booms, scissor lifts, overhead cranes, and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently.
+ Complete site orientations and monitor health and safety practices during field work.
+ Conduct health and safety inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
+ Lead or manage small teams of installers when required, providing direction and support on site.
+ Collaborate with team members to solve installation and fabrication challenges in the field and in the shop.
+ Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment while performing welding and installation tasks.
+ Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and organized condition.

**Job Description**
This role focuses on pressure welding within a dedicated pressure vessel team in a fabrication environment. You will weld vessels, spools, and nozzles, perform back welding on the production floor, and support the assembly of exchanger systems using overhead cranes. **Responsibilities**
+ Perform pressure welding on vessels, spools, nozzles, and related components on the production floor.
+ Split work time between pressure vessels (approximately 70%) and spooling (approximately 30%) based on production needs.
+ Read and interpret product drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs to plan and execute welding and fitting tasks accurately.
+ Complete back welding operations consistently to ensure structural integrity and compliance with specifications.
+ Assemble exchanger systems using an overhead crane, ensuring safe and precise handling of materials and components.
+ Carry out pipe fitting and layout activities to prepare materials and joints for welding.
+ Support hydrotesting and piping activities as required to verify the integrity of welded systems.
+ Work collaboratively in a fabrication environment, coordinating with fitters, welders, and other team members to meet project timelines.

We are looking for an individual with experience in planning and scheduling for energy construction operations. This position will be based out of Oshawa, ON, before returning to Alberta. In this position you will take a role in scheduling work on various types of oil and gas construction projects but the initial assignment is for a nuclear construction project in Ontario.
**District Overview**
Kiewit Energy Canada is a major industrial contractor that work on projects that involve construction of oil & gas facilities such as oil sands processing, including steam-assisted gravity drainage facilities, upgrading & refining, midstream facilities, power & co-generation, terminal projects (ex. LNG, LPG, etc.), and major mine developments. We are headquartered in Calgary and also have a Modular Yard facility in Edmonton, Alberta. **Location**

+ Mentor and help to grow Jr. Superintendents
+ Review and approve the balance of Foremen, journeymen and laborer's composite labor rates
+ Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management meeting for communication)

**Basic Job Requirements**
