We are looking for a driven, experienced, Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Montreal team in a full-time, permanent position.

Day to day, the Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the product's electrical design, from concept, through to production and field support. Expect a fast paced work environment, with a broad range of challenges and responsibilities. As a key role in a small team, the position offers able opportunity to make high impact product changes, as well as contribute to growth of fellow team members and functions of the company.

HYLO, our flagship product, is a direct response to demands for hotter print conditions and the careful thermal control needed to produce strong, dimensionally stable, parts from advanced materials. Most importantly, it offers an open filament platform that empowers users to choose the right materials for their project and slash costs by avoiding expensive proprietary materials and license fees.


Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Define and develop electrical and electronic design and architecture (pcbs, power electronics, safety systems). 
  • Lead and coordinate electronics design activities (requirement analysis, design, prototyping, design reviews). 
  • Perform modelling, design, testing and support of microprocessor based electro-mechanical systems, heating systems, and communication systems.
  • Drive process excellence: leverage proven processes, share lessons learned and adopt best practices from other parts of the business or industry.
  • Define and track technical performance metrics.
  • Document electrical and electronic architecture and design.
  • Document system integration planning.  

Qualifications: 

  • Engineering bachelor’s degree, graduate degree an asset
  • Minimum 7+ years experience in the design, test, and support of microprocessor based electro-mechanical systems, 10+ yr an asset
  • Experience managing electrical and safety certification processes (CE, UL, CSA), leading such efforts, an asset
  •  Advanced knowledge and experience integrating sensors, actuators and motors into complex systems, knowledge and experience of power electronics and heating systems, an asset
  •  Experience in real time control systems design, modelling and simulation. 
  •  Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. 
  •  Expert usage of measurement tools (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer). 
  •  Basic soldering skills including surface mount components. 
  •  Knowledge of electronic Bus Architecture and/or Interfaces and/or data transfer and communication protocols. 
  •  Experience with C and at least one other software language, experience developing embedded software, an asset
  •  Experience in circuit and control systems simulation. 
  •  Strong attention to detail. 
  •  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be committed to release deadlines. 
  •  Communicate effectively (in writing and verbally) with technical and non-technical members of the engineering/management staff and personnel assigned to related work. 
  •  Experience and aptitude for solving challenging problems in an integrated engineering team environment. 
  •  Have a high degree of initiative, adaptability and autonomy. 
  •  Fluent in English (spoken and written).

dcbel is looking to hire a Senior Mechanical-Thermal Design Engineer to work in our growing team. We are searching for a candidate with prior experience/knowledge related to thermal mitigation techniquesfor consumer electronic products.


Main responsibilities

  • Utilize Solidworks Flow Simulation software to design electronic cooling strategies for use in consumer products.
  • Design, analyze, prototype, and validate various cooling system components such aspassive/active heatsinks, heat spreaders, and cooling fan systems.
  • Coordinate with component suppliers on prototype creation, tooling design, and productionmanufacturing logistics.
  • Create component drawings, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and change orders.
  • Manage design CAD data via PLM/PDM systems.
  • Collaborate with Product Design, Electronics, Manufacturing, and Testing teams.
  • Ensure designed products meet the required quality and safety standards required for UL certification.


Key requirements

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or similar

Your role

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer will perform the maintenance tasks scheduled by the coordinators. The duties include, but are not limited to:

• The performance of such inspection, troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls, or modifications to Starlink fleet aircraft, components, equipment as may be assigned;

• Conduct certification of work, recording of discrepancies and completion of aircraft paperwork in accordance with company and regulatory requirements;

• Conformity to the procedures contained in the Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM);

• Reporting to the maintenance coordinators any discrepancies discovered during their maintenance activities;

Requirements

Your Role

Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance, your role will consist of performing routine maintenance tasks as scheduled by your coordinator.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering – Development and Innovation, you will be responsible for designing high-tech automated machines: Watch video. You will be a key player in each phase of an engineering project, from brainstorming to machine testing, proof of concept and design. Supported by a creative and dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will bring to life highly dynamic and efficient mechanisms. Your designs will incorporate pneumatics, servomotors, transmissions, robotics…only you will be the limit of possibilities.
