Job Description

ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Responsible Mining and Metals Supply Chains to join our team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of challenging projects for clients across a range of industry sectors but primarily focused on the mining / metals supply chain. This role will entail project management and delivery and collaborating with senior members of ERM’s commercial leadership to advance go-to-market activities. Over time, there will be increasing responsibility for managing tasks, teams, projects, and clients. This is an excellent career opportunity, with potential for fast progression, to work with management consulting and technical expert teams.
We envision this individual being based in our Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver office although location is somewhat flexible. The work will involve supporting local, national, and international clients with challenging business needs. This role will require some travel for internal meetings and client engagements, with the potential for international travel, but it is not envisioned to be a road warrior.
Structure and guide work processes to design, implement and improve enterprise-wide management systems, programs, policies, standards, with support from ERM subject matter experts, with a focus on the mining/minerals supply chain
Develop a deep understanding of Responsible Mining Standards and associated frameworks, including IRMA, TSM, ASI, The Copper Mark, RMI, ICMM, ResponsibleSteel, and others.
Maintain a strong working and technical knowledge of mineral supply chain due diligence processes, and related drivers including emerging legislation and stakeholder led initiatives.
Interact with clients in the form of interview at corporate, division, site levels as well as supporting and delivering presentations, trainings, and workshop facilitation.
Build on prior auditing and assurance experience to develop a deep understanding of due diligence and assurance processes, associated accreditation requirements, and related management systems.
Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Distill and analyze complex data, trends, and concepts into clear and concise takeaways and executive summaries.
Develop perspectives on demand drivers, integrated services to meet client needs, go-to-market campaigns, and proposals for existing and new clients.
Maintain and cultivate client relationships and represent a full range of ERM services by staying knowledgeable of trends in the environment, health, safety and sustainability fields.
experience creating clear deliverables for audiences ranging from corporate executives to plant-level operators.
~ Direct experience developing and implementing corporate strategy, organizational design, and/or process optimization.
~ Experience with mining/metal supply chain and industry requirements.
~ Experience with data analysis, and visualization preferred.
~ Strong MS Office computer skills, with an advanced understanding of PowerPoint and Excel.
~ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting tight deadlines, and traveling to clients as needed.
~ Ability to maintain flexibility and work independently with minimal supervision.
~ Bachelor’s degree in any discipline relating to the subject matter included within the scope of ESG risks facing the mining sector.
~ MBA or post-graduate degree preferred.

For the Principal Consultant, Responsible Mining and Metals Supply Chains (Principal Level) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $111,763 – $139,243 (CAD). An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This jobmay be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).

Direct experience developing and implementing corporate strategy, organizational design, and / or process optimization.
Experience with mining / metal supply chain and industry requirements.
Experience with data analysis, and visualization preferred.
Strong MS Office computer skills, with an advanced understanding of PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting tight deadlines, and traveling to clients as needed.
Ability to maintain flexibility and work independently with minimal supervision.

We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term / flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
6-8 years of professional experience relevant to the responsibilities described above.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience creating clear deliverables for audiences ranging from corporate executives to plant-level operators.
Direct experience developing and implementing corporate strategy, organizational design, and/or process optimization.
Experience with mining/metal supply chain and industry requirements.
Experience with data analysis, and visualization preferred.
Strong MS Office computer skills, with an advanced understanding of PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting tight deadlines, and traveling to clients as needed.
Ability to maintain flexibility and work independently with minimal supervision.
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline relating to the subject matter included within the scope of ESG risks facing the mining sector.

For the Principal Consultant, Responsible Mining and Metals Supply Chains (Principal Level) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $111,763 – $139,243 (CAD). An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above.This jobmay be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term / flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).

Job Description

ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Responsible Mining and Metals Supply Chains to join our team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of challenging projects for clients across a range of industry sectors but primarily focused on the mining / metals supply chain.
This role will entail project management and delivery and collaborating with senior members of ERM’s commercial leadership to advance go-to-market activities. Over time, there will be increasing responsibility for managing tasks, teams, projects, and clients. This is an excellent career opportunity, with potential for fast progression, to work with management consulting and technical expert teams.
We envision this individual being based in our Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver office although location is somewhat flexible. The work will involve supporting local, national, and international clients with challenging business needs. This role will require some travel for internal meetings and client engagements, with the potential for international travel, but it is not envisioned to be a road warrior.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Structure and guide work processes to design, implement and improve enterprise-wide management systems, programs, policies, standards, with support from ERM subject matter experts, with a focus on the mining/minerals supply chain
Develop a deep understanding of Responsible Mining Standards and associated frameworks, including IRMA, TSM, ASI, The Copper Mark, RMI, ICMM, ResponsibleSteel, and others.
Maintain a strong working and technical knowledge of mineral supply chain due diligence processes, and related drivers including emerging legislation and stakeholder led initiatives.
Interact with clients in the form of interview at corporate, division, site levels as well as supporting and delivering presentations, trainings, and workshop facilitation.
Build on prior auditing and assurance experience to develop a deep understanding of due diligence and assurance processes, associated accreditation requirements, and related management systems.
Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Distill and analyze complex data, trends, and concepts into clear and concise takeaways and executive summaries.
Develop perspectives on demand drivers, integrated services to meet client needs, go-to-market campaigns, and proposals for existing and new clients.
Maintain and cultivate client relationships and represent a full range of ERM services by staying knowledgeable of trends in the environment, health, safety and sustainability fields.
Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
6-8 years of professional experience relevant to the responsibilities described above.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience creating clear deliverables for audiences ranging from corporate executives to plant-level operators.
Direct experience developing and implementing corporate strategy, organizational design, and/or process optimization.
Experience with mining/metal supply chain and industry requirements.
Experience with data analysis, and visualization preferred.
Strong MS Office computer skills, with an advanced understanding of PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting tight deadlines, and traveling to clients as needed.
Ability to maintain flexibility and work independently with minimal supervision.
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline relating to the subject matter included within the scope of ESG risks facing the mining sector.
MBA or post-graduate degree preferred.
