What you bring:

The Clinical Dietitian and Food Service Manager plans, coordinates, and manages all patient and resident nutrition care activities while complying with the standards established by Aramark, regulatory agencies, and clients. Qualifications

The Community Health Worker – CTS works within the CTS services of SRCHC. This position will assist with the program activities, respond to overdoses, distribute harm reduction supplies, provide harm reduction education and make referrals to additional services. This position is further responsible to provide informal counseling and work on community engagement and capacity building through outreach activities and organizing and facilitating groups and workshops. The Community Health Worker – CTS will work collaboratively with other interdisciplinary team members and service providers, as well as with service users.

This position is expected to work onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports service users to administer their own drugs; assesses service user knowledge of safe drug consumption processes and works with service user to achieve the best possible outcomes
  • Assesses, responds to and manages overdose events; provides overdose prevention education and support
  • De-escalates conflict with or among participants, according to established protocols
  • Provides harm reduction materials and information to service users and ensures safe disposal of used equipment in accordance with established protocols
  • Seeks out opportunities to provide supportive counseling, education and referrals to health and social services
  • Assists with day-to-day CTS coverage, collaborative program planning and knowledge transfer activities
  • Works on community engagement and capacity building through outreach, community clean-ups and organizing and facilitating workshops
  • Maintains a hygienic, organized, comfortable and respectful environment
  • Assists with stocking, organization and inventory of supplies
  • Works collaboratively with other team members, participates in interdisciplinary case

conferences and team meetings and collegially shares knowledge of drug using community with other staff

  • Helps to ensure operations of the CTS comply with all exemption requirements and guidelines, as well as all SRCHC policies and procedures
  • Attends mandatory training as applicable
  • Collaborates within own team and other teams across the organization to identify and provide health education to target groups
  • All other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education from a recognized University or College
  • Proven experience with overdose response and training in/experience with oxygen and Naloxone administration
  • Physical ability to provide support in an overdose situation
  • Experience and knowledge of drug use, specifically injection drug use
  • Work experience with a harm reduction program and knowledge of harm reduction principles and strategies
  • Outreach experience and experience facilitating groups and/or workshops
  • Experience providing peer-to-peer support
  • Demonstrated ability to de-escalate crisis situations and other conflict
  • Confidence in asserting oneself and maintaining strong boundaries
  • Knowledge of community services and resources; strong advocacy skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computer technology and various software applications
  • Strong communication skills; able to actively and accurately listen

*The Opportunity *
Reporting to the Manager of Health Information Services, the Supervisor oversees and facilitates the daily deliverance of quality and efficient customer service for all clients in a 24/7 operation of the Health Information Services (HIS) Department. Acting as a coach and mentor, responsible for training and motivating staff to build on their strengths in achieving service excellence, including monitoring daily work and procedures of staff to ensure compliance with all quality and safety standards. Promotes teamwork, directly involving team members with problem resolution and customer satisfaction issues. In addition, acts as a liaison within the Health Centre, to ensure excellence and timely delivery of health information.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in health information management or equivalent experience required
  • CHIMA (Canadian Health Information Management Association) certification – preferred
  • Minimum of 1 -2 years of supervisory/management experience in a unionized environment preferably in a healthcare setting required
  • Three (3) years of experience in a Health Information Management field preferred
  • Knowledge of Privacy Legislation – Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy Act, Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, Personal Health Information Act (FOIPOP, PIPEDA, PHIA)
  • Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring processes, conducting data quality audits and investigating suspect data entry errors or omissions an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to facilitate problem solving and negotiate to promote successful outcomes when dealing with employees and customers.
  • Good working knowledge of Computer software, i.e. MS Windows, MS Office, Databases and departmental system applications.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and customer service oriented environment.
  • Ability to supervise staff in complex, unionized, multi-site operation 24/7-365 days per year.
  • Competencies in other languages will be considered an asset

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor entry points and control access to the healthcare facility, verifying credentials and authorizing entry for authorized personnel.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility, including interior and exterior areas, to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security threats.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and safety hazards.
  • Follow established protocols for emergency situations, such as lockdown procedures or evacuation drills, to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  • Interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a calm and respectful manner, resolving conflicts and addressing concerns to maintain a peaceful environment.

Requirements:

  • Valid Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals in a healthcare environment.
  • Proven experience as a security guard or in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Excellent observational and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to walk/stand 12-hour shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents.
  • Ability to complete accurate and detailed report writing, multi-task and work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Police Foundations, Community Justice Services or Law Enforcement Diploma would be an asset.
  • Flexibility to work continental shifts, including weekends, and holidays.
