**POSITION OVERVIEW**

We are an innovative team of engineers and designers that support a diverse set of projects in the power market. We are expanding our Mechanical Design team to support our growing number of Power generation projects across the US and Canada, and have a strong backlog of work for the next 10 years. In this role, you could be involved with power projects in any of the following areas: Large scale Electric Utility projects, Gas generation, Coal, Fossil Fuel (simple and combined cycle plants), Carbon plants and carbon capture facilities. We are seeking mid to senior level mechanical or process engineers, with 8+ years of experience to develop piping and mechanical equipment/systems specifications and design packages, check design deliverables, as well as develop procurement packages for equipment, and handle the vendor selection process. As a more senior engineer, you could be assigned as a lead for a project, where you are developing design schedules, assigning work, managing work manhours for the scope of your project, handling the budget, and mentoring more junior engineers.

**LOCATION**

This position will be located at our 10333 Southport Road, SW, Calgary Alberta office.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, industry codes and standards to projects
Perform high complexity engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection
Develop mechanical piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) for power plant systems including steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water treatment, flue gas, hydrogen, fuel handling, heat transfer systems, and utility systems
Prepare sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment including, but not limited to, boilers, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, blowers and pumps
Prepare mechanical engineering designs, equipment lists, general arrangements, aux power demands, and process flow diagrams (PFDs) and procurement packages for equipment/components
Check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements and company standards
Prepare requisite mechanical documentation for construction
Assist in the development of schedules, work assignments, and staffing requirements to ensure successful project completion
Coordinate with other drafters, designers, and engineers and review work progress and results
Provide technical mentoring and/or oversight
Balance multiple engineering tasks concurrently

If hired as a Sr. Engineer, may lead a project(s), manage budget/manhours/forecast/scope and schedule for your project.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**At least 8 years’ experience in mechanical engineering and design performing functions as outlined above is required, preferablly in the power industry, electrical utilities, chemical or gas industrial markets.**
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar degree program) from an ABET accredited four-year college or university program is required.
Has current P.Eng for Alberta or in process of completing licensing process or willing to pursue P.Eng within a year
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative; experience and interest in leading others and projects
Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail. Experience leading projects, managing scope/schedule/budget necessary for more Senior roles.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

- Fast-paced office environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management while simultaneously managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move up objects up to 30 pounds.
- Travel in the U.S. and internationally (5-15%).

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an adaptive, self-motivated design verification engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Verification Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

THE PERSON:

You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player with excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with engineers across different sites and time zones. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are eager to learn and tackle new challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain tests for functional verification with UVM at the subsystem level.
• Build testbench components to support next-generation IP.
• Maintain or improve current test libraries for IP level testing.
• Technically lead IPs in Control Fabric.
• Gain exposure to AXI protocol and Bootcode verification.
• Provide technical support to other teams.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++.
• Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Scripting knowledge in Perl, Ruby, and Makefile.
• Familiarity with SystemVerilog and modern verification libraries like UVM.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's (required) or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
