**ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Drafting of Electrical layouts, Single Line Wiring Schematics in AUTOCAD and MicroStation

+ Coordinate on site with electrical contractor and Performs field inspections and provides professional field support as necessary during construction phases.
**PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**
+ 3 or 2-year Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma and preferably 1 year of related work experience. _(Experience is desired but not mandatory, On Job training provided to fresh out of school Technologist)_
+ Proficient in the utilization of current electrical engineering theories and practices.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- In collaboration with the Design Engineer, assess all welded joints and provide weld related recommendations on all designs, including components and structures
- Provide support to design teams in the development and qualification of welded structures across all areas of engineering
- Develop, optimize, and qualify weld procedures in accordance with industrial and defense codes
- Understand QX118 and QX23 related activities and the application of GDLS Quality Management System in relation to welding standards
- Perform damage assessment on welded structures, develop repair plans and support repair procedures
- Lead planning, execution and reporting activities including development of Bid and Proposals
- Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations into weld related problems
- Provide weld expertise across the business and with both suppliers and customers
- Identify, propose, and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to welded structures and procedures
- Provide assistance to supplier selection and mentoring/training of new weld suppliers
- Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction in welded structures
- When needed, support the development and revision of welding based quality clauses, processes and ISO related audits
- Manage customer issues and expectations, lead and address issues/concerns, and provide technical and procedural guidance
- Review of various contractual requirements across multiple programs, clear understanding of deliverables, participate in joint meetings/reviews with stakeholders to ensure products delivered meet contractual requirements
Required Qualifications:
- University Engineering degree or College Engineering Technologist Diploma
- Familiarity with North American welding codes and specifications
- Applied knowledge of welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, Friction Stir Welding, etc.) and associated weld materials
- Technical knowledge of vehicle and parts design practices, engineering drawings, materials, GD&T, testing with ability to perform weld size and strength calculations
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
- Ability to obtain Level 2 (Secret) security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:

- Responsible to ensure that all team members follow established process and procedure including Thermon Design guide, Project Execution Guide, Quality Plan and take corrective actions where deficiencies occur

Knowledge & Qualifications

Key job responsibilities
- Responsible for programming PLC logic (Codesys, Allen Bradley, Siemens), HMI, cameras, sensors. Understanding of key field-bus protocols (Profinet, Ethercat, Ethernet/IP)

A day in the life
As a Controls Engineer, your day begins collaborating with Hardware Development Engineers to understand a new automation system's requirement. You'll evaluate controls design & build controls software using tools like Codesys or Python/Jscript. You will work with Industrial PCs and work with edge applications developing modules & functions to connection to the machines, transform the incoming data and transfer it to the cloud. You will be actively involved in testing the platform, validating the design and continuously improving our tech. You'll meet with cross-functional teams and external vendors to present findings and recommend optimizations. Your afternoon might involve mentoring the team on IoT best practices or coordinating with vendors on complex multi-system IoT applications. You will work with AWS to understand how data post-processing is conducted and use these tools for optimization at the controls level. Each day brings new challenges in digitally validating tomorrow's logistics solutions.

You will join the System Integration & Performance team within Innovation & Design Engineering, working alongside experts in Data Analytics, Physical Validation, and Integration. Together, these pillars provide essential tools for Hardware Developers to make informed design decisions. Innovation & Design's mission is to discover, test, and enhance new mechatronics technologies (Robots, Conveyors, Sorters) that transform Amazon's last mile logistics operations.
Basic Qualifications

Skills and Requirements
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (P.Eng. with PEO).
- Minimum 5 years of Civil/Stormwater Management Engineering experience.
- Strong competency in stormwater management design, including quantity control, quality control and low impact development.
- Experienced in preparing stormwater management reports
- Familiar with the approvals process from Municipalities, Conservation Authorities and Provincial Agencies in Ontario.
- Skilled in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using tools such as Visual OTTHYMO, EPA SWMM and HY-8.
