**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The role reports to the Amrize North America Head of Engineering and is assigned to develop large Capital(Capex) projects for the US and Canada region, with specific focus on feasibility and front-end-engineering design. The Engineering Manager manages the technical multi-disciplinary engineering aspects of a project.
**WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH**
+ Develop large capital projects through applying standard methods, tools and procedures, ensuring holistic development to deliver projects to the required investment decision gates on time and with no reworkManage project budgets through feasibility study phases and deliver an executable project budget for project realization
+ Leads multi-disciplinary engineering development with 3rd parties and ensures delivery of: Preparation of project basic engineering documentation (layout, mass flow, flow sheets, general arrangement drawings), Preparation of all technical appendices to be attached to the call for tenders and contracts,
+ Technical clarifications to the bidders, Technical evaluation of the offers, Selection process of suppliers and contractors from a technical/performance perspective, Reviews of detailed engineering documents/drawings provided by the contractors, Design safety, operability, maintainability and value challenge reviews with project stakeholders (OP). Project 'request for approval' documentation.
+ Organizes and conducts formal projects risk analysis with the Project Manager, Owner and Steering Committee
+ Organizes technical support from Engineering Discipline Engineers and Support Department to site team during construction, commissioning and start-up as required. Calls for external expertise on specific subjects when required, aligns with internal and external subject matter experts as needed.
+ Participates and contributes the engineering part in the Steering Committees
+ Supports technically the Country for a smooth transition to operation after the handover of the project
+ Prepares the AAR process after the project implementation. Accountable for monitoring all technical exchanges of information with PM&E engineers and suppliers (notes and drawings comments and validation)
+ Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors
**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
**Education:** Bachelor's degree or years of equivalent experience.
**Additional Education Preferred:** Master's degree
**Field of Study Preferred:** Mechanical or process engineering
**Required Work Experience:** Proven engineering coordination experience in cement and/or similar type of heavy industry with a minimum of 5 years in cement industrial engineering related fields
**Required Training/Certifications:** Project Management certificate e.g. PMI or similar is desired
**Required Technical Skills:** industrial engineering related fields
**Travel Requirements:** +/-30-40% of the time. Mainly in the USA and Canada

Position Summary:

The Engineering Manager leads the engineering team through various product development and production cycles. The Engineering Manager will deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions into the manufacturing process and to our customers; and has responsibility for both people management (development, coaching) and project leadership for those projects in his/her domain.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Tracks and reports on engineering targets (BOM cost, quality, customer and/or internal plant delivery timing, performance, project and department engineering budget, etc.) for all assigned projects.
  • Ensures that programs are properly resourced (both quality and quantity) for success, whether through assignment of direct resources, or leverage of external resources as required.
  • Responsibility of capacity monitoring, reporting and optimization.
  • Provides team leadership, management support, including coaching and active engagement with direct and extended team.
  • Provides technical leadership in directing the efforts of cross functional engineering team in the development and release of all relevant engineering deliverables in compliance with the product development process and/or customer expectations.
  • Ensures engineering timing plans, defect / issues list, risk assessments, lessons learned are created and maintained and provides engineering status for project reviews (e.g. APQP milestones, etc.) according to program timing for all assigned projects.
  • Ensures compliance to Company procedures (e.g. Process - Work Instructions) and applicable standards (e.g.).
  • First Level of formal supervisory responsibility with both functional and disciplinary authority.
  • Resource planning and alignment to ensure that all projects in the department are properly staffed with the right quality and quantity of resource to meet the deliverables in an effective and efficient way is a key objective of this position.
  • Develops process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA's), control plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and supports problem solving initiatives by implementing corrective action.
  • Complies with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QOS).
  • Modifying design of existing plant layout based on internal/external customer requirements.
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of product design techniques and all CAD software systems, maintaining drawings and nesting databases.
  • Initiating and driving justification for upgrades to processing, equipment and WIP, to enhance performance of system and value to the customer.
  • Provide expertise in industrial engineering and process design to other departments.
  • Understanding of the concepts of synchronous manufacturing and lean production manufacturing methodologies and the ability to formulate and implement a tactical plan.
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement and assists in its implementation on an ongoing basis implementing lean manufacturing principles to improve plant productivity.
  • Assists in the commissioning of new plants/ lines equipment, and other systems to ensure that the introduction into the production facility is handled efficiently and with minimum disruptions.
  • Monitor machine/employee ergonomic improvements & safety requirements.
  • Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible following event.
  • Comply with duties and responsibilities as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act and ensures corrective action is taken when violations occur.
  • Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.

Educational Requirements:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in the Mechanical Engineering field
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in the automotive or fabrication field with a proven track record of exemplary performance.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with the latest CAD software modules: design and layout, ideally has experience working with Pro-Engineer, Solidworks & Auto CAD
  • In depth knowledge of process improvement tools, product design techniques, mechanical drawing standards and GD&T
  • Prior experience with metal cutting, forming, welding (manual and robotic) and machining.
  • Knowledge of Lean techniques
  • Ability to travel if required.

About the Role

As the Engineering Manager at BOS Innovations, you’ll lead the strategic and technical advancement of our Engineering department, driving innovation in custom automation design. With a strong focus on team leadership and engineering excellence, you'll be responsible for overseeing project execution, mentoring engineering talent, and integrating cutting-edge technologies to elevate performance, quality, and efficiency. In this pivotal role, you’ll champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while aligning engineering output with BOS’s long-term vision. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership & Departmental Alignment: Lead the Engineering department with a clear vision that aligns with BOS’s strategic goals. Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement through structured goal-setting, progress tracking, and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Project Execution & Design Excellence: Oversee the successful delivery of all mechanical design projects, ensuring quality, functionality, and adherence to timelines and budgets. Drive the refinement of engineering standards, lead technical reviews, and resolve complex design challenges to uphold BOS’s reputation for excellence.
  • Innovation & Process Improvement: Identify and implement advanced tools, technologies, and workflows that improve engineering efficiency and quality. Encourage experimentation and stay informed on industry trends to keep BOS at the forefront of automation innovation.
  • Team Development & Resource Management: Mentor and grow the Engineering team, fostering leadership, technical growth, and career progression. Lead capacity planning, match resources to project needs, and collaborate with HR to recruit, onboard, and retain top talent.
  • Performance Monitoring & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Track engineering performance through metrics such as delivery accuracy, rework rates, and client satisfaction. Facilitate clear communication between engineering and other departments, ensuring alignment across project goals, client expectations, and company objectives.

Roteq Machinery is looking for an Engineering Manager with experience delivering mechanical design in manufacturing and leading and mentoring innovative and collaborative engineering teams. 
Reporting to the Head of Operations, and with a strong focus on team leadership and engineering excellence, the Engineering Manager leads the strategic and technical advancement of the Engineering department, driving innovation in custom equipment design. The Engineering Manager works cross-functionally to ensure project delivery meets high standards and customer expectations and driving continuous improvement.  

Key Accountabilities of the Engineering Manager:   
Strategic Engineering & Planning 

  • Lead the Engineering team in alignment with the Company’s strategic goals. 
  • As a member of the management team, contribute and collaborate in management team meetings, sales & operations planning, production meetings, project meetings, etc. 
  • Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement through structured goal setting, progress tracking, and cross functional collaboration.  
Team Leadership & Development: 
  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. 
  • Provide mentorship & professional development opportunities to engineering team members. 
  • Facilitate clear communication between engineering and other departments, ensuring alignment across project goals, client expectations, and company objectives. 
  • Act as a visible leader and an agent of change in engineering and across the organization. 
  • Manage departmental staffing levels based on business needs, allocate resources effectively to optimize business needs. 
  • Train, develop, coach, mentor and performance manage staff. 
Project Execution & Design Excellence 
  • Oversee the successful delivery of all mechanical design projects (concept to design), ensuring quality, functionality, and adherence to timelines and budgets. Drive the refinement of engineering standards, lead technical reviews, and resolve complex design challenges to uphold the Company’s reputation for excellence. 
  • Conduct detailed mechanical analysis of new and existing designs. 
  • Track engineering performance through metrics such as delivery accuracy, rework rates, and client satisfaction. 
  • Direct the creation and upkeep of internal technical documentation including machine manuals, project files, department procedures and standards, etc. 
  • Provide technical support for customers, manufacturing, suppliers, service personnel, and sales. 
  • Travel to customer sites or trade shows as needed. 
Innovation & Process Improvement 
  • Identify and implement tools, technologies, and workflows that improve engineering efficiency and quality.  
  • Stay informed on industry trends to keep the Company at the forefront of innovation. 
  • Special projects as assigned for the overall benefit of the company.  
 
Essential Qualifications of the Engineering Manager:   
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). 
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in a similar engineering leadership role with a background in industrial equipment design, optimizing workflows and mentoring engineering teams. 
  • Strong knowledge and proven experience with design and sizing of a wide variety of mechanical components including gear drives, timing belt drives, bearings, structural members, and fabrications. 
  • Solid knowledge in performing load, deflection, and stress analysis (including fatigue). 
  • Proven leadership abilities. Relationship builder with excellent communication.
  • Proficiency in design software (i.e. SolidWorks and PDM) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) as related to design and manufacturing.
  • Detail oriented critical thinker with ability to analyze data and make informed decisions and solve problems. 
  • Strong project management experience, including demonstrated ability to efficiently plan, organize, and manage complex, multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Ability to lead and inspire a high-performing cross-functional team. 
  • Ability to develop strategic vision and plan, while leading the team through tactical execution. 
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing conditions. Strong sense of urgency. 
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (i.e. international customers, local seminars, etc.).
