How do you fit in?

The Exploration Geologist will act as a prospect generator and administrator in specified land base areas, to support exploration project delivery objectives – with a focus on driving approval, planning and execution activities through to completion for the Llanos Basin team.

What you will do:

• Conduct detailed analogue field and data analyses and comparisons to better understand reservoir geology, characteristics and limitations.
• Correlate and integrate various data types (e.g. well, production, water/fluid) to build and enhance geologic models, in order to illustrate and evaluate subsurface geology and reservoir properties.
• Generate exploration prospect recommendations from determined land base, identify plays and exploration drilling targets, and conceptualize exploration/development plans.
• Create and deliver presentations to management to propose exploration prospects and plans, review risk assessments, cost estimates and economic feasibility, and obtain approvals for priority project implementation.
• Provide planning and geo-steering support to optimize exploration drilling operations, and utilize data outputs to monitor and assess production and reservoir performance.
• Collaborate to ensure successful exploration project management and delivery, with focus on Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), scope, schedule, budget, and QA/QC due diligence.

What you must have/be:

Company Overview:

Role Summary:

Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Geologist will play a key role in supporting early-stage exploration programs across the company’s Quebec assets. The successful candidate will be based in Val d’Or and involved in mapping, trenching, sampling, target generation, and interpretation using Leapfrog and GIS tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct geological mapping, prospecting, and trenching activities
• Oversee sampling programs and field data collection
• Interpret and model geological data using Leapfrog and GIS platforms
• Assist in target generation and exploration planning
• Prepare technical reports and contribute to NI 43-101 compliant documentation
• Work closely with field teams and contractors to ensure safe and efficient operations

Qualifications:

• BSc or MSc in Geology or Earth Sciences
• 3+ years’ experience in mineral exploration (Senior Geologist: 6+ years)
• Proficiency in Leapfrog and GIS software (QGIS or ArcGIS)
• Strong understanding of gold systems and Quebec geology
• Fluent in French and English (spoken and written)
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work in the field

Location:

This is a site-based role in Val d’Or , with work across regional project sites. Candidates must be based locally or open to relocation.

West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. is a mineral exploration company that is focused on advancing and developing its flagship Madsen Gold Mine and the associated 47 sq-Km highly prospective land package in the Red Lake Gold District of Ontario. The highly productive Red Lake Gold District of Northwest Ontario, Canada has yielded over 30 million ounces of gold from high-grade zones and hosts some of the worlds richest gold deposits. WRLG also holds the wholly owned Rowan Property in Red Lake, with an expansive property position covering 31 sq-Km including three past producing gold mines Rowan, Mount Jamie, and Red Summit.

Reporting to the Chief Geologist the successful candidate is responsible for the daily underground geology related to underground tonnes and grade production. The Production Geologist will work with the operations team on a 14 days on and 14 days off work schedule in the support of a safety culture and achievement in production targets.

The focus of this role will include:

• Ensure underground mining activities are conducted in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario) and Regulations and environmental standards
• Comply with all safety requirements and observes all company policies and procedures
• Training of junior production geologists in grade control process and procedures
• Assist with set up of grade control systems and procedures including data entry, management, and tracking
• Ore control duties which includes visiting all active ore and waste headings
• Detailed underground mapping of ore and waste headings
• Collection of grade control samples (chip ,muck, testhole)
• Geological interpretation of grade control data and geological mapping
• Short-term and long-term planning with engineering and operation department
  
• Other duties as may be required

Skills and Experience:

• University degree in geology or geological engineering
• Eligible for registration as a professional geologist in Ontario (APGO)
• Common core module
• 3-5 years of underground mine operations and geology experience
• Working knowledge of the Ontario Mining Act as it relates to mine operations

Musselwhite Mine

Purpose:

• Provide effective grade control of the underground mine
• Perform sampling and mapping of underground headings and associated reporting
• Liaise with Engineering and Mining Departments to optimize grade control and operational efficiency
• Provide information for daily, weekly and monthly reporting
• Perform interpretation and modeling of lithology and mineralogy
• Design and manage delineation drilling programs
• Interpret geological data and model deposits
• Log diamond drill core as required.

Skills and Experience:

• 4-year B.Sc. degree in Geology, or equivalent 2 - 5 years of relevant experience preferred
• Geo, or working towards designation
• Knowledge of Deswik, Vulcan and Acquire software an asset
• Strong analytical and organization skills
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening, presentation)
• Ability to frequently lift, carry and push 55 lbs
• Ability to frequently reach below and at-shoulder level

Operating in a Northern British Columbia mining environment on a two week in/two week out shift rotation, the Exploration Geologist is a key employee involved in the geology functions at the Silvertip Operation. • Assist in planning and developing regional exploration programs;
• Perform drill rig inspections, logging and rig management duties (surface and underground);
