Primary Responsibilities: * Collection and interpretation of geological data from exploration programs, including diamond drilling, field mapping, surface sampling, and re-logging: * Drill core logging and field mapping. * Ensures best practices for logging, sampling, and database management are followed. * Contribute to the evaluation and interpretation of detailed- to regional-scale geology to identify and prioritize exploration opportunities. * Contribute to exploration work programs and exploration planning. * Work in close collaboration with contractors and any other persons placed under their responsibility. * All other tasks related to exploration programs Qualifications and Experience: * A minimum bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Science; Post-graduate degree, an asset. * Minimum 1-5 years’ experience in mineral exploration. * Solid knowledge of orogenic gold deposit models. * Understanding of geological settings, deposit models, and ore-forming processes as it pertains to the latest concepts of gold deposit environments. * Experience in field mapping and logging of diamond drilling programs an asset. * A demonstrated commitment to safety, environment, and community. * Self-motivated and able to perform and communicate effectively with coworkers and clients * Experience with Leapfrog, ArcGIS, and SQL databases considered an asset. * Registered as a Geologist in Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (P.Geo) desirable. Your Opportunity
We are currently searching for a Senior Geologist to join our Calgary office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Geology, Geotech and Hydro oversight to our mining team responsible for resource-reserve estimation, geotechnical engineering, mining engineering, hydrogeology, mine planning, mineral processing, and financial analysis. Purpose:

As part of our acquisition of Musselwhite Mine, we are recruiting a Senior Geologist II to join our Exploration team at Musselwhite Mine. This is an onsite role and will be responsible to lead and coordinate safe, efficient, and cost-effective exploration programsfrom target generation through execution of drill programs and real-time interpretation of results, to budget oversight. By overseeing contractor relationships and managing multi-disciplinary teams, the Senior Geologist II ensures alignment with strategic objectives while maintaining the highest standards of safety, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. This position is essential to support the Exploration team and will report to the Exploration Manager.


Responsibilities include:
Lead surface exploration programs (deposit extension(s) to extend LOM, brown field, green field) ensuring targets are identified, appropriately developed, prioritized, and evaluated.
Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and contractors to ensure safe program delivery
Track and evaluate program milestones, adjusting plans as necessary.
Maintain up to date a target rating and ranking system
Oversee risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Perform and assist with geological and structural modelling
Review and finalize exploration reports for management and stakeholders.
Establish and enforce quality control and assurance protocols (QA/QC).
Evaluate emerging data technologies to improve process efficiency.
Ensure consistency in data collection methods across multiple projects or sites.
Track and manage Surface Exploration program budget.
Monitor overall budget performance, recommend and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Provide leadership to the geology team, foster culture of discovery-driven exploration, accountability, and urgency.


Skills and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Geology or Geological Engineering (MSc a plus).
Registered with the Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO), or working towards accreditation.
Minimum 10 years of exploration-related industry experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience working with, overseeing, and managing exploration teams.
Minimum 5 years of practical experience planning and managing large exploration programs with multiple drill rigs.
Minimum 5 years working with exploration targets generation, assessment, and targets portfolio (pipeline) management.
Minimum 5 years of exploration experience for different types of deposits; Epithermal, Orogenic, Porphyry, etc.
Minimum 5 years working with exploration data management and analysis
Good knowledge of QAQC principles including implementation and data assessment

The successful candidate will support a variety of environmental and hydrogeological projects across southern Ontario and beyond. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level professional with 5–10 years of experience to lead field programs, support environmental site assessments and remediation projects, and contribute to technical reporting and client management.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead and support field programs including environmental site assessments (Phase I & II ESAs), hydrogeological investigations, excess soils, and remediation projects.
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret soil, groundwater, and surface water data.
  • Oversee subcontractors, coordinate drilling and excavation activities, and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, proposals, and client correspondence.

Minimum Qualifications

Red Canyon Resources is seeking a Senior Contract Geologist with proven experience in copper porphyry mineral exploration to lead and support our core logging, interpretation, and drill program execution. Based in Terrace, BC , this role is ideal for a senior geologist comfortable executing all geological responsibilities related to a skid or heli-supported diamond drill program. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead logging of diamond drill core, with detailed lithological, alteration, structural, and mineralization observations
  • Oversight of geotechnical logging and structural interpretation of core
  • Oversight of sampling protocols and QA/QC procedures
  • Contribute to 3D geological models and daily interpretation updates
  • Collaborate closely with senior project geologists and geoscientists
