What You’ll Be Doing: Directing and guiding the activities of a team of analog designers developing high-speed SERDES IP.
Conducting design reviews and evaluating the final results of simulation and electrical characterization reports.
Presenting the results of design activities, technology assessments, or critical issue investigations and making recommendations for actions necessary to achieve desired results.
Selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the team.
Developing schedules and action plans to meet overall project timelines.
Reviewing documented design features and test plans.
Ensuring that the team follows processes and operational policies for maximum design quality.
Consulting on the electrical characterization of the SerDes IP product and proposing solutions for post-silicon design updates.

What You’ll Need: B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/MS in Electronics Engineering.
8+ years of experience in Analog Design for High-Speed SerDes applications.
1-2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
In-depth familiarity with transistor level circuit design and sound CMOS design fundamentals.
Detailed design experience with SerDes sub-circuits such as receive equalizers, samplers, voltage/current-mode drivers, serializers, deserializers, voltage-controlled oscillator, phase mixer, delay-locked loop, phase locked loop, bandgap reference, ADC, and DAC.
Familiarity with both analog and digital circuits and issues related to interfacing and timing between them.
Aware of ESD issues (i.e. circuit techniques, layout).

Job summary: As a Digital-Analog Electrical Engineer, you will collaborate with other team members and achieve technical milestones under the guidance of senior leaders. Job duty includes the design, implementation, and validation of mixed signal electronic Printed Circuit Board (PCB) used for quantum prototypes and laboratory experiments. Acacia designs intelligent transceivers using advanced signal processing and photonic integration for the 100G, 400G and 1T bit speed fiber optic transmission market deployed in data center, metro, long-haul and ultra-long haul telecommunication networks.
**Meet the Team**
We are Mixed-signal IC design group that develops high speed (>25Gb/s), and high accuracy, analog designs for optical communications products. We optimize design that will integrate into the ASIC. Our team interacts with other Acacia groups including digital/DSP design, system design, package design, and module design.
**Your Impact**
+ You will architect, design, layout, measure and productize ultra-deep sub-micron-based CMOS products.
+ You will lead efforts for a large block on a complex chip, mentor team members and track deliverables, participate in peer review of complex IC designs and provide solid design methodology from conception to production.
+ You will also collaborate with packaging and hardware design team to ensure signal and power integrity specifications are met.
+ You will develop high speed AMS circuits and best-in-class products that push the boundaries of what is possible.
**Minimum qualifications:**
+ BSEE degree with 12+ years of experience or equivalent or an MS degree with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent or a PhD with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent
+ Design, simulation and measurement of high speed ICs in at least 3 areas below:
High Speed Serial Links utilizing serializers, deserializers, and data convertors, voltage regulators, output drivers, phase locked loops, clock transmission/propagation, opamps, programmable gain amplifiers, and equalization
**Preferred qualifications:**
+ Experience with electrical transceiver applications including backplane and cable communications
+ Experience with FinFET technology
+ High-frequency layout experience a plus: Passive component design: inductors,
+ transformers, transmission-lines, etc.
+ Floorplanning (power/ground, digital/analog signal routing, etc.) experience
+ Custom transistor layout experience
+ Experience designing for manufacturability
+ Experience with ESD laboratory practices and methodology
+ Experience with Cadence (virtuoso), Spectre/APS/SpectreX, Matlab, EMX
+ Experience with mixed-signal simulations in AMS

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

Job Summary

The Hardware Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the design and development of hardware products in the Product Development department, while taking into consideration the goals of the company and the needs of the customers. This role is responsible for ensuring Delta Intelligent Building Technologies standards and processes, along with engineering best practices, are being followed and continually improved upon throughout the design, verification, validation and manufacturing phases.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and guidance for hardware development.
  • Identify the optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development and/or customer requirements.
  • Ensure that the products are fully and correctly defined and documented.
  • Assign technology research and investigations.
  • Perform line management duties for personnel, including performance appraisals and pay reviews.
  • Facilitate professional development for team members including training and other career development opportunities.
  • Recruit Hardware Designers in conjunction with the Human Resources Department. This includes the hiring of full-time, part-time, contract and student (co-op) staff for hardware functional group.
  • Create and manage a budget for the Hardware functional group.
  • Provide consultative inputs to project schedules as needed.
  • Verify that the Project Teams follow company processes and procedures as well as standard Engineering practices and principles. Audit performance and maintenance of records.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement improvements in hardware development
    methodology, tools and best practices ensuring best fit with corporate and end-
    customer requirements
  • Derive and maintain suitable performance metrics to measure hardware development performance.
  • Experience implementing processes around DFX (DFM, DFT, DFR, DFSC)
  • Experience in reliability engineering concepts (DFMEA, PFMEA, HALT).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering or equivalent related experience; Mechatronics option preferred.
  • P.Eng. required.
  • 10+ years in high volume manufacturing of which 3+ years are in a managerial role.
  • Proven management ability.
  • The ability to identify and build on distinctive strengths within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and technical communication and writing skills.
  • Solid understanding of engineering technical issues and needs as they relate to our industry.

Work Location: In-office environment that is currently 3 days per week

Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
