Onsite Role: This position is required to be onsite 5 days a week

Role Summary
The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting the day-to-day functions of the Assembly Team of over 25 clerks. The role supervises the execution of assembly processes to ensure that all work orders are completed accurately and on time. On top of day-to-day execution, the position is responsible for planning and completing larger projects and reporting-based tasks on a monthly and quarterly basis. This position requires exceptional leadership, time management, conflict resolution, critical thinking, multi-tasking and self-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to the team, and address performance issues through one-on-one meetings and annual performance reviews
  • Partner in the attraction and selection of new team members, and conduct orientations and trainings
  • Monitor, motivate and communicate progress on key goals and initiatives to team members
  • Develop materials, policies and procedures and provide ongoing training to team members
  • Review and correct assembly procedural non-conformity
  • Oversee bi-weekly pour schedules and related work orders
  • Supervise the completion of all paperwork, including work orders and daily product assembly log sheets
  • Enforcing a preventative maintenance program on all department machinery
  • Track, analyze and communicate production-related metrics, KPIs and other key data points
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analysis to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues
  • Develop and recommend improvements in the department, equipment or procedures to improve safety, quality, delivery and costs
  • Responsible for quality control inspection plans and logs and conducting problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Focus on process improvement, goal achievement, and workflow efficiency
  • Ensure health and safety measures are consistently implemented and adhered to
  • Conduct regular safety walkthrough audits and report to the Safety Committee

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to comfortably and regularly lift over 35lbs

Qualifications
  • Leadership experience of direct reports – minimum 5 years
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment – 3 years
  • Continuous improvement – an asset
  • Inventory experience – an asset
  • Superior computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP system – an asset
  • Knowledge of Mandarin and/or Cantonese is considered an asset

About the Role: The Value Stream Supervisor (VSS) oversees the production process and the overall management of the Value Stream to ensure its success through ongoing feedback. Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead by example through established Leader Standard Work (LSW) to drive daily, weekly, and monthly high-impact activities.
  • Coach and support Team Leaders , providing real-time feedback and auditing LSW to ensure consistent leadership at all levels.
  • Lead weekly huddles , guide effective daily huddles, and foster open communication across shifts.
  • Take ownership of employee-related matters, including performance, attendance, coaching, and workplace concerns.
  • Support hiring and onboarding in partnership with HR, ensuring a strong and engaged weekend team.
  • Identify cross-training opportunities and coordinate team development plans; maintain training matrices on the value stream board.

Production Oversight & Effeciency

  • Monitor performance using JIVE and KPIs to track efficiencies, identify gaps, and celebrate wins.
  • Review and align staffing levels with production schedules; manage overtime and time-off approvals per Cam Tran guidelines.
  • Assess daily dashboards to evaluate operator output and ensure production targets are met or exceeded.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying "What’s Stopping Us" (WSU) and facilitating action plans to remove barriers.
  • Collect, analyze, and visualize data to support decision-making and accountability.
  • Champion visual management and ensure continuous improvement initiatives are tracked and followed through.

Safety, Quality & Customer Focus

  • Ensure compliance with Cam Tran’s safety standards and protocols , modeling safety-first leadership.
  • Respond swiftly to quality concerns or customer-impacting issues, ensuring timely, effective resolutions.

The assembly & test department build and test highly engineered turbofan engines that are flown all around the world.
You will also be the contact person for internal and external customers, as well as the point of contact for employees and the management team.
The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, Second shift 2:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. in Mississauga, and is exclusively on-site.
**What will your day-to-day look like?**
+ Actively participate in the implementation of continuous improvement projects and initiatives/projects in his/her sector of activity aimed at reducing non-quality costs
+ Manage organizational changes and ensure employee flexibility.
+ Supervise and lead a team of skilled assembly and test employees
+ Motivates and creates a team atmosphere on the shop floor
+ Assigns tasks and monitors the pitch throughout the entire production cycle
+ Responsible for coaching, resolving employee issues and serving as a link between employees and management
+ Responsible for employee training, development, performance management, and career development
+ Schedule training and ensures policies, and procedures are met
+ Responsible for EH&S compliance including inspections, investigations and action closure, and promotion of an active caring workplace
+ Engage team in CORE activities and application of tools. Lead robust Quality clinics.
+ Drive and actively participate in continuous improvement projects on the shop floor
+ Appropriate and timely communication of information in contact/staff meetings
+ Administrative tasks including timecards, vacation, schedules, overtime monitoring
**What do you need to be successful?**
+ College diploma (DEC) or Bachelor's degree (BAC) in Operations Management, Administration, Quality Assurance, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
+ 5 years' management experience
+ You must be fluent in written and spoken English
+ Experience in the aeronautical industry and/or manufacturing company (asset)
+ Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, groups, projects and/or processes
+ Able to manage department shift schedule, support weekday and weekend overtime as required
+ Must have demonstrated abilities in leading teams from various groups and working closely with internal customers and suppliers to achieve results
+ Must be quality driven and committed to provide quality services in a demanding environment

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our sub-assembly and tire and wheel assembly operations. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our production line, maintaining high standards of quality, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-stress, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Shift Management:
Set up shifts, create schedules, and manage rotation schedules.
Run pre-shift meetings to ensure all team members are aligned on daily goals and safety protocols.
-Production Oversight:
Monitor production processes on the floor, ensuring adherence to quality and efficiency standards.
Implement Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and safety.
Supervise and support a team of 12 members per shift, including 1 maintenance personnel and 1 team lead.
-Hands-On Support:
Provide hands-on assistance during equipment breakdowns and other critical situations.
Communicate and manage injuries, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Performance Monitoring:
Track and report on production metrics, ensuring the team meets the target of 5 tires in 55 seconds.
Address any delays or issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
-Collaboration:
Coordinate with the maintenance team and team lead to ensure seamless operations.
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting internal promotions and growth
