We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong understanding of freight handling, and the ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary. The Delivery Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while providing exceptional customer service.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed for loading and unloading tasks.
- Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on delivery vehicles when necessary.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred; experience in commercial driving is a plus.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and regulations.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform minor automotive repairs.
- Excellent time management skills with a focus on punctuality and reliability.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.

Core Responsibilities
- Safely operate a typical cargo van (e.g. Mercededs Sprinter, Ford Transit) to complete scheduled deliveries and pick-ups across assigned routes.
- Load, secure, and unload goods with care, ensuring products arrive in excellent condition.
- Verify and document shipments, including delivery manifests, invoices, or electronic logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical concerns promptly.
- Follow all road safety rules, company policies, and Ministry of Transportation regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of the truck and ensure it is fueled and ready for use.
- Provide courteous, professional customer service at delivery points, including taking reorders, handling returns, or collecting payments where required.
- Assist with basic warehouse tasks (e.g., organizing deliveries, helping with loading dock) during downtime.

- Strong knowledge of local road networks and safe driving practices.
- Good time management skills and the ability to follow delivery schedules.
- Attention to detail for verifying orders, paperwork, and delivery accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer-facing interactions.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic mechanical awareness to recognize and report truck issues.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or overtime when needed.
- Experience driving a 3-tonne or 5-tonne truck will also be beneficial but not necessary.
*Successful candidates will be asked to provide 3-year driver's abstract ordered through Service Ontario.

**Job Description:**
UPS Delivery Drivers deliver and pick up packages from residential and/or commercial properties. This role involves driving and the continual lifting, lowering, and carrying of packages in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment. Drivers follow safe transportation methods while traveling to and from destinations, ensuring the best customer service through efficiency and dedication.

**Workdays:**
Tuesday to Saturday
**Shift Start:**
Tuesday 9:30AM & Saturday 9:15AM
**(Flexibility with Start and Finish times required)**
**Shift Duration:**
8-10 hours per day
**KEY**
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Deliver and pick up UPS packages efficiently and effectively
Learn and properly execute UPS safe and defensive driving methods
Assist with loading and unloading trucks as required
Record, track, and maintain information about delivered packages
Comply with UPS appearance guidelines by wearing the company provided vest and uniform
**REQUIREMENTS:**
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32kg) unassisted. Typical package weight ranges from 25-35 lbs.
Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service skills
Proficiency in navigating and finding locations using maps, GPS devices, and map books
Available to work Tuesday through Saturday with flexibility to work occasional Mondays
Valid Ontario G Driveru2019s License
Clean Driveru2019s Abstract showing:a)
No violations for the current year (last 12 months) and no more than 2 violations for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)b)
No accidents and maximum 5 demerit points for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
