Westlock Motors Ltd. is seeking a qualified and experienced Automotive Service Technician to join their busy dealership in Westlock, Alberta! The successful candidate will work on a permanent, full-time basis and earn $34.00 per hour.
Location of Work: 10415 104th Ave., Westlock, Alberta T7P 2E4

Job Duties:
- Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults
- Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications
- Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups
- Communicate with Service Advisors and customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements

- Stay current with manufacturer technical bulletins and required OEM training
Skill Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of total experience working as an Automotive Service Technician
- Exceptional communication skills in order to effectively communicate automotive issues clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Superior analysis and problem solving abilities; with extensive knowledge of automotive systems and the ability to explain systems and repairs to others
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the vehicle repair is completed correctly the first time and to accurately document the story and work performed on the repair order
- Ability to work independently to effectively manage time and work flow
- Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with other technicians and staff
- Ability to perform heavy work including frequent lifting of more than 50 lbs
- Must be able to speak and write in fluent English
Other Requirements:
- Journeyperson ticket or the ability to obtain and challenge ticket within 6 months of being employed with Westlock Motors Ltd.
- Be able to provide own tools
- A valid Provincial or International Driver's License
