We are seeking an Intermediate Hydrotechnical Engineer to join our Markham office, with consideration for other Ontario locations. You will be part of the Water Resources Technical Team within Stantec's Environmental Services Business Line.
Your Key Responsibilities
As an Intermediate Hydrotechnical Engineer, you will contribute to a variety of hydrotechnical, hydrologic, and hydraulic projects within a dynamic design team. You will report directly to a Project Manager or Team Lead.
- Develop hydrodynamic models using tools such as MIKE 3, MIKE 21, and Telemac to support coastal and river engineering projects, including environmental impact assessments, remedial designs, and risk evaluations
- Apply a strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, with proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and PCSWMM
- Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical findings, and interpretations
- Support proposal development and assist in creating work plans, project schedules, and budgets, while managing assigned projects and tasks

This role involves developing and implementing transportation policies, collaborating with stakeholders, analyzing data, and leading the assessment of project impacts through an equity lens. Candidates should have a strong understanding of urban transportation planning principles and good communication skills. You will play a critical role in shaping transportation systems to support sustainable growth and development. The role of the Project Manager is to work independently or as a team member on a range of small to large civil infrastructure projects. **AECOM** is seeking a **Water Resources Engineering Graduate** for a full-time position that can be based out of either our **Kitchener or London, Ontario** offices.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Builds analytic and design skills.
+ Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
+ Complete initial hydrologic and hydraulic calculations related to the sizing of culverts, ditches, channels, floodways, and various hydraulic structures.
+ Apply provincial and municipal design criteria and adhere to industry standards in support of the development of preliminary and detailed designs for stormwater management systems.
+ Support the Water Resources team with the preliminary and detailed design of low-impact development and green infrastructure projects throughout Ontario.
+ Assemble and prepare data from a variety of geospatial databases, stormwater design reports, and related documents for hydrologic and hydraulic model development.
+ Interact with clients at in-person and virtual meetings; assist with the preparation of meeting minutes and dissemination of action items; organize and assist with the facilitation of internal project coordination meetings and workflow assignments necessary for successful project execution
+ Assist with the completion of fieldwork related to water quality and sediment sampling, including maintenance of field telemetry stations.
+ Support water resources and broader civil engineering teams with the delivery of a variety of complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects.

Your Key Responsibilities In this position as a Junior/Intermediate River Restoration Engineer/Scientist, you will have the opportunity to execute the technical components of river restoration projects while working as part of a team of engineers, scientists and technologists for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for ecosystem restoration who wants to expand their abilities in a dynamic work environment. You will report directly to the Stream Restoration Team Lead. Other responsibilities include:
- Assisting senior staff with field work, analysis, and design for some of the largest stream restoration projects in Canada;
- Coordinating design work with technical experts to achieve complex project goals;
- Completing computational modelling (i.e. HEC-RAS, MIKE FLOOD, SWMHYMO, PCSWMM) to evaluate river stability, floodplain inundation, and aquatic habitat suitability;
- Preparation of tender documents, construction observation, and post-construction monitoring for bank stabilization and river restoration projects;
- Perform local and remote field work as required, including the collection of geomorphological field data, environmental sampling, etc.;
- Assisting senior staff with writing reports and design briefs to document analyses; and
