We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our Markham office, with consideration for other Ontario locations. You will be part of the Water Resources Technical Team within Stantec's Environmental Services Business Line, contributing to a wide range of water resources projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
This role involves working within multidisciplinary teams on baseline and impact assessments, feasibility studies, hydrologic assessments, and water quality investigations. You will manage complex scopes of work alongside hydrologists, hydrotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists, structural engineers, and directly engage with clients. Strong hydrology and hydraulics expertise is essential.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Lead and manage water resources projects involving hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality components

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Builds analytic and design skills.
+ Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
+ Complete initial hydrologic and hydraulic calculations related to the sizing of culverts, ditches, channels, floodways, and various hydraulic structures.
+ Apply provincial and municipal design criteria and adhere to industry standards in support of the development of preliminary and detailed designs for stormwater management systems.
+ Support the Water Resources team with the preliminary and detailed design of low-impact development and green infrastructure projects throughout Ontario.
+ Assemble and prepare data from a variety of geospatial databases, stormwater design reports, and related documents for hydrologic and hydraulic model development.
+ Interact with clients at in-person and virtual meetings; assist with the preparation of meeting minutes and dissemination of action items; organize and assist with the facilitation of internal project coordination meetings and workflow assignments necessary for successful project execution
+ Assist with the completion of fieldwork related to water quality and sediment sampling, including maintenance of field telemetry stations.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other related fields.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Eligible to apply for P.Eng. within four years.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited educational institutional with a minimum of 10 years of experience.

- Demonstrated technical and leadership experience in the construction industry and efficient management of assigned tasks on multiple concurrent projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of client expectations, regulatory requirements, legal requirements, tendering procedures and processes, budgeting, proposal writing, and producing high quality deliverables.
- Solid understanding of design and construction methods in various disciplines of civil infrastructure and vertical design.

Your Key Responsibilities In this position as a Junior/Intermediate River Restoration Engineer/Scientist, you will have the opportunity to execute the technical components of river restoration projects while working as part of a team of engineers, scientists and technologists for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for ecosystem restoration who wants to expand their abilities in a dynamic work environment. You will report directly to the Stream Restoration Team Lead. Other responsibilities include:
- Assisting senior staff with field work, analysis, and design for some of the largest stream restoration projects in Canada;
