YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate shears and bending machines to manufacture parts to specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to prepare, measure and mark aluminum or steel according to drawings or templates.
- Perform deployment calculations and optimize equipment use.- Assemble aluminum panels.
- Grind and polish joints, fittings and rough surfaces to ensure a quality finish.
- Inspect parts to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Apply protection to aluminum sheets and package finished products, if necessary.
- Supply drawers with sheet metal using forklift.
- All other related tasks
PREREQUISITES :
- DEP in sheet metal work or other relevant training and experience
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Excellent manual skills

Lynden Door Canada is looking for a CNC programmer and operator to join our team at our Yarrow, BC location
If you have prior CNC operation, set up, run and first part QC experience in the wood products industry (preferred) as well as programming with WoodWop and Homag CNC experience - we want to talk with you.
The role is responsible for operating a CNC (HOMAG) wood router, running the correct pre-made templates and other woodworking equipment to manufacture doors and millwork.
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, boring, trimming, milling etc.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, mechanical drawings and specifications to determine machining requirements
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for machining operations using WoodWOP software. Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- Interpret and complete manufacturing orders in a timely manner; maintain productivity goals
- Set up and load tools and programs and prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications; inspect parts with precision measuring instruments to ensure design tolerance and QA
- Set machines to complete production runs as required
- Supervise the machines during the production run making any necessary adjustments to produce a better result; troubleshoot and perform maintenance
- Maintain detailed records for programs, tooling and production
- Report on production, performance, quality control and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs
- Collaborate with team members and train or guide other machine operators on programming and operation
Requirements and skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is beneficial
- Proven experience as CNC operator (wood products industry preferred)
- Successfully completed WoodWop CNC100
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Computer savvy with an understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
- Mathematical aptitude and understanding of imperial measurements to the 1/32 of an inch
- Physical ability to safety lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand and / or be on your feet for an entire shift
- Good communication abilities

Daily Job Duties:
