Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Manager, Compensation and Benefits is responsible for the plan, design, implementation, maintenance and administration of all compensation and benefit programs and scheduling processes and protocols consistent with REAL’s compensation philosophy to supports its objectives to attract, retain and motivate a talented workforce. This position plays a critical role in maximizing human resource costs by creating and maintaining workplace schedules to ensure the appropriate staffing levels are achieved to enable REAL to deliver quality customer service. This position is also responsible for planning, leading and directing all aspects of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) to support organizational workforce planning and labour requirements/costing and actualize effective and efficient organizational needs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a member of REAL's Management team, the Manager, Compensation and Benefits participates in the development of REAL's strategic planning process, develops, and implements the business plan to achieve the corporation's short and long-term goals by:
- Developing implementing and managing the business unit's goals and objectives to achieve short to medium term operational results of the Department.
- Developing, implementing and monitoring business unit critical success factors and key performance indicators.
- Developing and implementing the business unit policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, safety and consistency.
- Manage the ongoing development and implementation of compensation and benefits programs.
- Monitoring and analyzing operational trends and staying updated on the latest trends, equipment, products, regulations and processes related to effective & efficient compensation, benefits and scheduling practices to capitalize on opportunities and make recommendations for change if needed
Leads, oversees and manages Compensation and Benefits programs and services by:
- Oversees and ensure regular employee payroll is processed in a timely, accurate and consistent manner including reviewing and approving all required remittances and compliance with relevant legislation, collective agreements and policies.
- Develops strategies and makes recommendations for the alignment of compensation and benefits plans, policies and programs to support REAL employment brand, total rewards philosophy, and the current and long-range goals and objectives of REAL.
- Researches, analyzes and develops total compensation packages and benchmark data for in-scope and out-of-scope employees to ensure competitiveness base and variable pay structures, incentives and bonus programs, and administrative guidelines based on business needs and objectives.
- Ensures the effective delivery of compensation and benefits plans and programs.
- Regularly re-evaluates the design of specific programs to ensure that they continue to meet the established objectives.
Leads, oversees and manages Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) by:
- Leads the analysis, design, project plan development, testing and implementation of a corporate wide HRIS, including upgrades, enhancements and new modules that incorporate human resource information, compensation, benefits and scheduling.
- Manages HRIS project plan to ensure project scope, deliverables, timelines, and budget requirements, etc., are met.
- Directs the management and administration of HRIS (Payroll, Time and Attendance, etc) systems to ensure data integrity, business-process automation, and integration with other corporate IT efforts.
- Ensures audit reviews are conducted on a monthly basis; identifies incorrect and missing information and takes appropriate steps to resolve issues.
Ensures effective business unit financial planning by:
- Contributing to the development of the department's annual budget (capital and financial), responsible for monitoring quarterly financial statements and forecasting/implementing appropriate expenditure controls to manage costs.
- Periodically reviewing invoicing to ensure all inputs are reported and invoice is submitted in a timely manner to the client. Ensuring outstanding receivables are followed up on once advised by Finance of any delinquency.
- Recommending changes in direction or priorities during the business year; provide direction for necessary modifications to the business plan or operating budgets as required during the fiscal year.

Education and Experience
- A degree in Business with specialization in Human Resource Management or related field, or a combination of relevant education, training and experience.
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in human resources directly related to compensation and benefits management and demonstrated experience in the administration and deployment of human resource information systems.
- Canadian Payroll Association Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is considered an asset. Certified Payroll Manager certification would be an asset.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of HR principles, best practices and trends related to compensation and benefits and human resource information systems.
- Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Employment Act, labour and employment law, CRA requirements for employee pay and benefits.
- Proven ability to deal tactfully and decisively with sensitive client issues while maintaining the highest levels of customer service and confidentiality.
- Excellent leadership skills with the proven ability to lead and motivate team members.
- Computer proficiency required including automated payroll and HRIS systems and advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.

Job DescriptionWhat you'll do:
- Lead the execution, with the support of the VP, Global Talent Operations on the planning and administration of a variety of annual programs including annual salary planning, annual bonus plan analysis and execution, market pricing and salary structure review, long-term equity program administration, or other compensation related programs
- Support VP, Global Talent Operations on other analytic activities, including partnering with Finance teams on forecasting and accruals and budget preparation

**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in a field related to this position or equivalent work experience
+ 5-7 years of related experience with cloud implementations in a consulting role specifically within the Benefits module
+ End-to-end project implementation experience in one or more of the following areas: Cloud ERP, EPM, CRM or Data Management solutions. Benefits module experience is a must.
+ Excellent communication skills - oral and written - and the interpersonal skills needed to quickly establish relationships of trust and collaboration
+ Experience with and ability to develop and grow others through effective coaching and leadership
+ Ability to provide industry insights and identify opportunities for value creation based on deep understanding of client (internal or external) challenges
+ Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed to work with client or other internal project teams
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Testing and modifying Fast Formulas
+ Support existing Fast Formulas including reviewing and resolving issues
