- Perform carpentry for concrete slab scopes on the project
- Adherence to project specifications, code and corporate safety requirements on all sites
- Proficient knowledge and use of tools and equipment needed for the scope
- Experience or willingness to be trained on equipment operation is an asset
- Other tasks as required by the site foreman
Requirements
- 3+ years of carpentry experience
- Looking for someone with a significant amount of concrete slab experience
- Great attitude
- Safety conscious
- Good verbal communication skills
- Candidate must have excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
- Exceptional analytical, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

- Light industrial: Buildings and renovation
Duties and Responsibilities
**Concrete Experience:**
- Types of work performed: Footings, foundations, grade beams, piles, pile caps, pedestals, drainage & utility chambers, thrust blocks/collars, structural pads, wing walls, ramps, pits/sumps, outfalls, weir walls, retaining walls, culvert end treatment, etc.
- Build and layout formwork, layout and tying of rebar/reinforcement, potentially placement and finishing.
- Strip, disassemble formwork. Aftercare of concrete
**Other:**
- General Construction- Demolition and Renovations
- Carpentry- Measure, Cut, Shape, Assemble and Join Materials- Wood, Steel, Concrete, etc.
- Site Preparation- Drilling, Excavation, Shoring, Drilling, Foundations, Floor/Wall/Roof Systems.
- Build/Erect Construction Structures and Components- Scaffold, Catwalks, Ramps, Barricades, Tunnels, Trestles, Bridges, Shelters.
- Ability to comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
- Operate, Inspect and Maintain Tools and Equipment.
- Work with and Monitor Subtrades.
- Confined Space Entry
- General Housekeeping
- Work safely and comply with OHS legislation and Whitson’s policies and procedures.
- Additional duties as needed by the company and the worksite.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of previous work experience.
- Enrolled in a Carpentry Apprentice Program
- CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, Confined Space Entry and Monitoring, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform Certificates
- Valid Drivers License
- Reliable Transportation (to get to work)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test. This includes but is not limited to legal drugs (Cannabis/THC) and illegal drugs.
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record check.
- Ability to stand, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, and climb for long periods of time
- Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
**Considered an Asset if you have the following:**
- Equipment Experience (Skid Steer, Telehandler, Mini Excavator)
- Previous experience wearing a respirator- Half/Full Masks, SCBA, SABA

- $23- $38 hour, rate is dependent on apprentice year, education and expereince

Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8-10 hours a day
- Must be flexible to travel and work weekends or holidays to accommodate business needs.
