We're seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our roster that have experience with excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, and other specialized equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Inspects equipment to ensure it is in safe operable condition and any servicing has been completed
- Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures
- Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner
- Properly reports any mechanical or safety problems with the equipment in accordance with company procedures
- Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent, and coworkers
- Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required
Qualifications:
- 2+ Years of Equipment Operating Experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a Driver's Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- H2S Alive
- Common Safety Orientation
- TDG
- WHMIS
- Loader Operator Certification
- Drug and alcohol testing may be required
Working Conditions:
- Travel is required and certain jobs may be eligible for Living Out Allowance
- Exposure to noise, dust, fumes and extreme weather conditions
- Physically demanding with heavy lifting required (up to 50 lbs)
- Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (including night, weekends, holidays, and overtime)

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
As a Construction Manager, you supervise the total onsite construction efforts to ensure that each project is constructed in accordance with design, code, quality, budget, and schedule requirements. At the beginning of a project, you review the preliminary project budget, identify missing or inaccurate scope items, set up the budget, and ensure project costs are accurately accounted for.
Your great organizational skills allow you to manage or supervise multiple projects at one time. As the primary contact for client representatives, field personnel, material suppliers, inspectors, and subcontractors, you are the driving force behind producing desired project results. You are determined to make sure that building projects stay organized, under budget, and on schedule. You take great pride in your work and enjoy coming to work every day.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong understanding of construction projects and principles
- Prior experience with restoration (water/fire) projects (strong asset)
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in the building construction trade (preferred)
- Drivers license and clean abstract
- Ability to complete work activities which may include physical labour, material handling and lifting, climbing ladders, wearing a respirator, and working in tight spaces (attics, basements, and crawlspaces)
- Ability to participate in on-call schedule
- Organizational and strong interpersonal skills

THE LOCATION
Based out of LAPRAIRIES Grande Prairie / Clairmont Alberta facility Serving throughout beautiful and expansive Alberta and Western Canada.
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE SKILLS
- Perform a wide range of routine and complex repairs related to timber, concrete and steel bridge structures including concrete formwork and finishing, bearings, cap and other replacements of bridge components, backwall and abutment excavation and backfilling, and other work
- Perform bridge construction and/or rehabilitation tasks involving multi span timber, concrete, cable and steel bridges including standard and major bridges
- Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to skid steer, loader, dozer, excavator, and pile driver
- Multiyear field experience related to civil bridge construction / maintenance
- Site supervision and management experience is considered an asset
- A strong focus on Health, Safety & Environmental practices
- Ability to understand technical specifications and related project drawings
- Solid communications skills (oral / written)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a thorough knowledge of worksite safety, and safe operating procedures relevant to bridge and or civil construction
- Certified Red Seal trades in Carpentry, Ironworker or alike would be considered an asset
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's licence. Class 3 or a Class 1 Drivers licence is preferred

- Operate rock drills

Qualifications
What You Need to Bring
- Any prior soil stabilization, grouting, or foundation mitigation experience OR
- Prior construction industry experience as a carpenter or framer for example OR
- Prior concrete experience such as a concrete finisher/form builder or shotcrete experience
- Must not be afraid of heights
- A CDL Class A or a clean Motor Vehicle Driving Record
- The ability to travel at least 3 weeks out of every month
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Ability to get along with a diverse group of people
Preferred Qualifications:
- CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) Certification
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) Certification
- Ground Disturbance Level 1 or 2
