Note: Last Cohort for Fine Arts due to rolling changes within the Faculty of Arts and Science.
A Department Student Council President advocates on behalf of the students in their department. In addition, the DSC President is the leader of a committee of undergraduate students that is responsible for the planning and execution of events tailored to their specific department. The DSC Co-Presidents report to the ASUS Academics Commissioner.
Applications will remain open until a competitive candidate pool is established. The closing date will be determined based on the volume and quality of received applications .
Time Commitment and Remuneration
Approximately an 11 month-term from March 2025 to April 2026.

Time Commitment and Responsibilities
- Advocate for the interests of students in their respective department
- Organize, promote, and execute academic and social events for the department
- Prepare for and attend every Arts and Science Faculty Board
- Coordinate administration of USAT evaluations
- Submit a budget, strategic plan, and constitution to the Academics Commissioner
- Participate in DSC Assembly, to be held once a month
- Attend a monthly meeting with the Academics Commissioner or the Deputy Academics Commissioner
- Follow all provisions in the DSC Charter

- Lead a team of creative professionals to design and execute innovative Experiential Graphic Design (EGD) solutions.

- Serve as primary client and stakeholder contact, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration throughout projects. Provide updates, address concerns, and align project objectives to meet stakeholder expectations. Support project managers in issue resolution, escalate complex challenges to studio leadership, and offer strategic solutions. Drive business development through proactive relationship-building and partnership.
- Oversee financial processes, including fee proposals, invoicing, ASAs, and collections, while adhering to budgets and meeting client expectations. Provide guidance on complex financial issues and negotiations to support project success and maintain integrity.
- Control risk assessment and mitigation, ensuring all potential risks are identified, documented, and communicated in alignment with TF's risk management process. Proactively seek insights from past risks or claims to inform strategies for mitigating future occurrences.
What You Will Bring
- Degree/diploma in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Experiential Graphic Design, and or Architecture.
- 7-10 years of experience in Experiential Graphic Design field, with a significant portion in a management capacity.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and knowledge of current design trends.
- Revit, and/or SketchUp software knowledge is an asset.
- Familiarity with relevant best practice and accessibility guidelines, as well as applicable building codes, ensuring compliance in all design projects.
- Extensive knowledge of wayfinding strategy and manufacturing methods.
- Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid role, with 4 days in the Studio.

Duties : Reporting to the Director Communications, Marketing, and Donor Relations; this position is responsible for the corporate identity of the College of the Rockies. This responsibility includes communications, advertising, marketing, public relations, logo usage and institutional branding. Specifically, this position advises, conceptualizes and develops graphic advertising designs, displays, brochures, posters, and other publications. This position advises, participates, and provides marketing expertise to various committees and assists with special projects/events. Remote work may be considered if incumbent is a resident of British Columbia.
Qualifications : Two years of post-secondary education in graphic design along with two years related work experience; additional coursework in marketing and communications is an asset. The successful candidate will have artistic vision and creativity with strong concentration and multitasking skills. They will be a proactive team player with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and complete projects on time. Experience and ability to work in a PC Environment using various Adobe Creative Suite products including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Lightroom, Word, Excel, Power Point.
