**What are your contributions to the team?**
As a Data Scientist, you will report to the Programs Manager in the Programs & Supply Chain department. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance supply chain efficiency and support strategic program initiatives, contributing to the overall success of our business unit.
+ Design and develop machine learning and AI models using Azure Databricks.
+ Use curated data from the data platform to create predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive models that address business needs.
+ Deploy models into production using Azure Databricks and other Azure ecosystem tools.
+ Monitor and maintain models to ensure accuracy, performance, and reliability over time.
+ Partner with the data engineering team to access and prepare high-quality datasets for model development.
+ Work closely with application developers to integrate AI models into AI-enabled applications seamlessly.
+ Conduct experiments to evaluate model performance and optimize algorithms for accuracy and efficiency.
+ Use Azure Databricks' model registry to track and manage model versions and performance.

**How to thrive in this role? Skills, knowledge & experience:**
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field. A PhD is a strong asset.
+ You have 5+ years of professional experience in data science and machine learning, with a focus on model development and deployment.
+ Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, including its model registry and data catalog.
+ Experience developing machine learning models using Python and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
+ You are autonomous, innovative and dynamic.
+ Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark for data processing and model development.
+ Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical methods, and data preprocessing techniques.

Data Scientist
Our global data science team works on a diverse set of problems and projects related to learning, insights, and impact measurement in the nonprofit sector. We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing team, where they will work with data engineers, analysts, and other team members to develop compelling and useful knowledge products for GivingTuesday stakeholders, including academics, data partners, the social/nonprofit sector, and the general public.
In this role you will:
- Work with a wide range of data types including donation data, transaction records, government and census data, nonprofit tax filings, survey data on perceptions and activity, and philanthropic investment account data, gathered from collaborators and institutional partners in the nonprofit ecosystem
- Deliver and write analyses with actionable insights and communicate these findings to cross functional stakeholders of varying technical levels
- Manage key datasets and improve their usability by creating database dictionaries and user documentation
- Improve existing data processing pipelines, automate recurrent operations on core datasets
- Create impactful data visualisations and interactive data dashboards for stakeholders
We are looking for someone with:
