Operating in a Northern British Columbia mining environment on a two week in/two week out shift rotation, the Exploration Geologist is a key employee involved in the geology functions at the Silvertip Operation. An active interest in geology and exploration, solid work ethics, regular attendance, and punctuality are essential requirements for this position
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist in planning and developing regional exploration programs;
- Perform drill rig inspections, logging and rig management duties (surface and underground);
- Perform detailed structural mapping and sampling campaigns over prospect areas and underground;
- Interpret and manage geochemical data;
- Complete accurate core logging and sampling;
- Create and communicate results and progress through presentations and written reports;
- Validation of drill hole data suitable for database creation;
- Quality assurance and control of logging and sampling data;
- Perform pre-operational checks, operate equipment and perform all job functions according to Safe Operating procedures;
- Accomplish other tasks within his/her area of expertise as requested.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- B.Sc. Geology or Geoscience;
- Minimum of five (5) years exploration experience;
- Experience in structurally-controlled deposits is considered an asset;
- Experience working underground is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of Vulcan, Micromine, Leapfrog (or experience with similar), word processing and spreadsheet programs;
- Registered or eligible for registration with APEGBC;
- Valid driver's license;
- Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
Additional Information: Willing to work a two week on/off schedule, working 12 hours per day at a remote mine camp.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director of AI Trust and Safety, the Applied Research Scientist will lead innovative research focused on AI Trust and Safety (T&S), with a particular focus on advanced AI systems and their systemic and societal risks. They will contribute to a dynamic research agenda that builds on Amiis strengths, addresses critical gaps in the T&S landscape, and is informed by emerging national and international research priorities. Amiis strategy is grounded in advancing AI T&S to support innovation, responsible adoption, and the diffusion of AI technologies, transforming research outputs into practical tools, frameworks, and resources that have real-world impact.
The Applied Research Scientist will leverage their work through academic papers, whitepapers, conference presentations, and practical tools to position Amii as a leader in AI safety. Their research will advance the understanding of AI risks, drive the development of more trustworthy AI systems, and support the responsible adoption of AI technologies.
The position centers on three key areas:
- Trust & Safety AI Research Projects
- Strategy and Applied Expertise

Research priorities include advancing rigorous methodologies for risk assessment and system evaluations, studying the real-world behavior of complex AI systems, and developing new approaches for designing safer AI models. Particular emphasis will be placed on safety challenges in reinforcement learning (RL) and continual learning (CL), where systems adapt over time or learn from ongoing experience in dynamic environments.
Focus areas span topics such as:
- Developing robust techniques for assessing capabilities, risks, and system robustness in adaptive systems, including Reinforcement Learning (RL), Safe RL, and continual Reinforcement Learning.
- Studying the real-world impacts of AI systems, including detecting and mitigating synthetic content and fraud, with the potential to leverage game-theoretic frameworks to model and analyze adversarial dynamics.
- Research into value misalignment, robustness, and interpretability in RL agents, as well as the integration of human feedback and constraints into RL systems.
- Other emerging areas of RL or continual RL research that align with T&S objectives and long-term research priorities.

Qualifications:

The Simulation, Optimization and Systems (SOS) group within Autodesk Research is seeking an exceptionally talented and experienced Scientific Leader to join our team. + Experience with analytical instrumentation
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Demonstrated experience implementing AI / ML algorithms to solve scientific problems
+ Ability to work independently
+ Proven track record of innovation and patent generation preferred
The salary range for this role is $90-$120K CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
