**What you'll bring to WSP:**
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; Master's or PhD preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario. Registered professional engineer in additional Canadian provinces would be an asset.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in landfill gas engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of landfill gas engineering design and project delivery.
- Experience with completing senior peer review of landfill gas designs.
- Demonstrated leadership on key projects and experience with delivering project excellence.
- Strong seller-doer capable of generating work, creating long-term relationships, and delivering long-term value to clients for WSP.
- Highly collaborative and driven to form internal partnerships.

**Job Summary:**
You will support projects across Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors, including renewable energy (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. **Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering + four (4) years of relevant professional experience
+ Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario in good standing.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience in sectors such as Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability (PV and EV systems).
+ Experience in design tools: AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar.
+ Solid Knowledge of power systems: MV/LV distribution, lighting, controls, renewable energy systems.
+ Proficiency with engineering calculations and preparing technical documentation.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
+ Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a must.

Reporting to the Director, Engineering Design, the
Electrical Engineering Designer
will be responsible for the design of transformers/reactors of simple to high complexity, with technical guidance. The designer will be responsible for direct interaction with customer to provide high level of customer support. They will be responsible for all designs/projects executed in terms of quality of output and support to other departments and timeliness of each activity.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Design transformers/reactors of 'Medium' complexity. Using existing rules to provide guidelines for the design. The designer is responsible to make technical decisions to complete the design.
  • Review and understand application requirements and discuss with customers for clarification or suggestions.
  • Prepare quotes with technical particulars and factory cost.
  • Prepare optimized design and MIP for orders. The cost must be in line with the quoted factory cost.
  • Coordinate and provide support to drafting for overall optimization of design.
  • Provide support to manufacturing, as required and approve test reports.
  • Provide support for customers/field issues/ QA, as required.
  • Follow the requirements specified for COD projects.
  • Work with customers to develop an overall cost-effective solutions for the customers application.
  • Work with HPS team to accomplish the requirements of the project cost effectively and on time.

+ Select engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations in conjunction with senior engineer/supervisor
+ Analysis and design qualification of nuclear components using finite element analysis or classical closed-form solutions which would include:
+ Structural analysis
+ Transient thermal analysis
+ Heat-transfer analysis
+ CFD analysis
+ Response spectrum and time-history seismic analysis
+ Flow-induced vibration analysis
+ Provide input and support to Project Engineering including:
+ Input to set the design
+ Preparation of calculations and reports to qualify the final design
+ Evaluating non-conformances as required
+ Responsible to demonstrate acceptance to the criteria of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and the Customer's specification.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or associated fields with strong background in solid mechanics and/or fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
+ Typically, 5+ years' experience and knowledge of:
+ Finite element analysis.
+ Experience using general purpose FE codes such as ANSYS, ABAQUS and numerical packages such as MathCAD or Matlab.
+ Knowledge of nuclear plant functions and ASME BPV Code would be an asset.
