WSP is seeking a 8 to 12-month Co-op student in the Civil Engineering program to join our Track Team with the Rail & Transit department for the January 2026 Term. The position is based in (Calgary/Winnipeg/Edmonton) and will be reporting to the Manager, Rail & Transit - Calgary or Winnipeg. This position will be responsible for supporting both heavy and light rail related projects.

**What you can expect to do here:**
+ - Support senior engineers with heavy and light rail related engineering drawings, contract documents, quantity/cost calculations, and coordination tasks;
+ - Work with tight schedules, be flexible, and maintain a very high quality for all assigned work;

THE POSITION

**The Opportunity:**
WSP currently has an exceptional opportunity for a Intermediate to Senior Geotechnical Engineer with permafrost (cold region) experience to join the Prairies & North Ground Engineering team. The successful engineer can be based in any of our offices in Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba.
The Ground Engineering Group is involved in a range of projects from conventional to leading-edge complex assignments in the area of foundations, infrastructure and transportation; design of tailings dams, pit walls and waste dump structures in the mining industry; and slope assessment and stabilization work related to geohazards.

To succeed in this role, you'll have a strong understanding of geotechnical engineering and engineering geology, particularly in permafrost environments as well as proven project/client management, and communication skills. **A day in the life:**
As a Intermediate to Senior Geotechnical Engineer with WSP Ground Engineering Group, you'll have the opportunity to:
+ Use your technical skills to deliver high-quality engineering services focused on permafrost environments with geotechnical investigations, conceptual and detailed engineering designs, analytical and numerical analysis and evaluations, technical specifications, drawings, and reporting.
+ Use your business sense to assist in maintaining and building strong client relationships and developing and growing the business for the long term.
+ Use your leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills to manage projects and lead geotechnical and multidisciplinary project teams.
+ Mentor, train, and develop junior to intermediate geotechnical engineering staff.
+ Prepare and review technical proposals and reports.
+ Collaborate with other WSP offices, geotechnical engineering staff, and a range of internal multi-discipline groups on various projects across the Prairie and North region.
**What you'll bring to WSP .**
+ A university degree with a minimum of an undergraduate degree (preferably with a Masters or Ph.D. degree) in civil (preferably geotechnical) or geological engineering from an accredited university.
+ A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering and design experience, with a focus on permafrost or cold region engineering.
+ A strong understanding of geotechnical and permafrost engineering and engineering geology.
+ Experience in geotechnical investigations, geohazard evaluations, air-photo/LiDAR interpretations, thermal and slope stability evaluation, instrumentation, and construction monitoring.
+ Experience with numerical thermal analysis using Temp/W and experience with the site investigation, design and construction of building and bridge foundations, landfills, roads, and other earth structures in permafrost regions would be an asset.
+ Experience with the design, construction, instrumentation, operational reviews and/or reclamation of waste dumps, pit walls, and/or tailings dykes.
+ Extensive experience with thermal, slope stability, seepage and deformation modelling.
+ Specific knowledge and understanding of the geology in the Prairies and Northern Canadian regions (Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut) would be an asset.
+ Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, and a motivated team player.
+ Excellent client relations and communication skills and abilities to manage project deliverables on time and budget.
+ Excellent written communication skills to prepare work scopes, reports, presentations, and publications.
+ A strong commitment to safety and sustainability.
+ Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Canada.
+ Unrestricted class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) valid in Canada and clean driver's abstract.

**AECOM** is seeking a **Water Conveyance Engineering/EIT** for a full-time position based in **Winnipeg** , **Manitoba** .
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
+ Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
+ Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
+ Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
+ Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
+ Position includes design and analysis of rural and urban conveyance systems including water transmission and distribution systems, wastewater collection systems and land drainage conveyance system.
+ Field Responsibilities include.
+ Occasional Field Assignments, inspections and survey assistance
+ Work under the direction of the project manager
+ Review of project drawings and specifications
+ Observe, inspect and record work on-site to ensure compliance with specifications
+ Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports
+ Construction survey layout and as-built record survey
+ Conduct field measurements to establish quantities
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Candidate must have completed **Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering** , or similar major, or have demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience in MS Office 365.
+ Experience in AutoCAD.
+ Experience in GIS platforms, such as Geomedia.
+ Experience in hydraulic modelling software, such as InfoWorks ICM. WaterCAD and other platforms would be an asset.
**Additional Information**
+ Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

+ Willingness/ability to travel to job sites and perform field work as needed.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Co-op Student will support day-to-day production activities by assisting with key entry-level engineering tasks. This role provides hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. The student will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure production efficiency, quality, and process reliability.

Key Responsibilities

· Resource Model Support: Assist in rebuilding and updating the production resource model to reflect current operations.

· Installation Audits: Conduct audits to verify proper installation of components and systems on the production line.

· Station Tool Audits: Perform audits of tools at workstations and update the tool database to ensure accuracy and availability.

· DC Torque Tool Implementation: Support the rollout of DC torque tools and participate in process audits to ensure proper usage and calibration.

· Time Studies: Collect and analyze data on new builds to identify process improvements and validate labor standards.

· Quality at Source (QAS) Projects: Contribute to various QAS initiatives such as:
