**Project Management Organization (PMO) Manager - Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions**
BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada (NEC) is seeking an experienced and driven PMO Manager to lead our Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions (FHES) project management team in Peterborough, Ontario.
As a global leader in the design, manufacture, testing, and service of specialized equipment for on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery, the FHES team is at the forefront of solving some of the nuclear industry's most complex challenges. We are the original designer of the automated CANDU refueling systems, enabling 24/7 on-power refueling and supporting carbon-free energy generation in nuclear plants across Canada.
Our innovations extend beyond power generation as BWXT is also the creator of the Target Delivery System at the Darlington Nuclear Power Plant, one of the largest medical isotope irradiation systems in the world, playing a vital role in the production of lifesaving medical isotopes.

Reporting to the Vice President of Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions, the PMO manager is responsible for the administration, organization, performance, and operation of all aspects pertaining to the Project Management Organization comprised of over 20 employees. Work is apportioned to the PMO as one of multiple product/business lines within the Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions (FHES) business.
The PMO Manager is a critical leader within the business; and demonstrates and exemplifies those attributes important to the BWXT NEC business. Collaboration with the peers and their associated teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance and commercial are critical to success.
**Accountabilities:**
Administration:
+ Establish departmental plans, goals and objectives, for the effective execution of project management excellence within the FHES business.
+ Plan, and manage departmental budgets.
+ Empower and support the PMO staff in the creation and maintenance of effective governance for work executed through the PMO.
+ Participate and provide leadership in the FHES operational business planning, monitoring, and presenting (e.g. resources, sales, margins, forecasting, revenue recognition, CAPEX) within any level of the BWXT organization.
+ Collaborate with intra-departmental FHES colleagues to identify growth opportunities and formulate strategic recommendations.
+ Ensure adherence to corporate and extra-departmental governance.
Organization:
+ Responsible for recruitment, development, succession planning, performance reviews, and retention for departmental staff.
+ Maintain strong collaborative relationships with FHES Management.
+ Bring the voice of the customer to the department and ensure it is considered the paramount metric of success.
+ Work with intra-departmental FHES colleagues to develop & support strategies to improve overall organizational effectiveness.
Operation:
+ Responsible for the performance of all projects in the PMO portfolio.
+ Organize, plan, and chair meetings to ensure staff and other colleagues have the information, context, and expectations necessary to be successful in project execution.
+ Accountable for project data and performance metrics and the effective dissemination to appropriate stakeholders.
+ Report, present, and advocate departmental performance data and resource needs.
+ Support escalated recovery of project performance to align with project commitments and client expectations.
+ Monitor and control the companies project portfolio, indicate and resolve issues early.
+ Assist in communication of significant issues and risks to clients and BWXT leadership.
+ Maintain strong collaborative relationships with client organizations.
**Knowledge and Experience:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or other suitable field from an accredited university.
+ 10 years of related experience.
+ Proven mastery of project management fundamentals including scheduling, earned-value management, budget controls, and change management.
+ Demonstratable understanding of complex contract management.
+ Proven mastery in organizing, analyzing, and presenting large and diverse data sets.
+ Demonstratable understanding, comfort and experience regarding complex and difficult client management and commitment to client relationships and mutual success.
+ Professional mastery of English, in written and verbal forms.
+ Demonstratable capabilities in personnel management, including conflict resolution, delivery of critical feedback, and supporting individuals and teams to achieve personal and professional success.
+ Evidence of leadership capabilities.
**Desired Characteristics:**
+ 10 years of related industry experience;
+ 10 years of project management experience in a project based organization;
+ Experience in the nuclear energy production industry;
+ High level of competency with Oracle Primavera P6;
+ High level of competency with Microsoft Excel;
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $130,000 and $165,000 per year. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
