The Heavy Mobile Equipment Maintenance Supervisor at Heidelberg Materials' Sechelt, BC, aggregates mine will lead and mentor a team of maintenance personnel, ensuring efficient and safe operations of heavy mobile equipment. This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan, coordinating resources for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and managing vendor-based repair recommendations. The supervisor will monitor equipment performance using telemetry data and daily inspections, enforce safety and environmental compliance, and manage budgets for repair and maintenance costs while responding to emergency maintenance activities as required.
**What You'll Be Doing**
+ **Ensure Health & Safety, Compliance, and Environmental Standards:** Conduct regular safety training, enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and administer environmental programs to meet company and regulatory standards.

Maintenance Mechanic Shift: 8 to 12 hours rotationalWe are seeking a mechanically skilled individual who can work on maintaining plant systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting, and repairing any issues which may arise during production, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. Equipment used in this food processing facility includes industrial, electromechanical, and hydraulic equipment as well as pumps and conveying systems.
The Maintenance Mechanic must be able to troubleshoot, install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, generators, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, packaging machines, VFDs, PLCs, etc…
Other duties include.
- Inspect and examine machinery (conveyors, packers, seasoners, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, etc.) to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Perform maintenance tasks according to work orders (cleaning, lubrication, etc.)
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
- Perform good troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment break downs.
- Has a pro-active mindset; finds solutions to different problems and complexities.
- Can adapt and learn quickly to problems. Can operate in a high-pressure environment.
- Perform daily maintenance and repairs needed in the production area.
- Setup, take-down, and relocation of Processing and Packaging equipment.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:
- Post-Secondary Education in a mechanical trade.
- 4+ years' experience as a field service technician or field repair technician in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong proven skills in automation and troubleshooting.
- Good judgement and decision-making skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to use hand and power tools.
- Must be able to work a rotating shift as well as some extended hours and weekends.
- Welding will be considered an asset.

- Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment, Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers.
- Welding on vehicles with the use of MIG welders and compression spot welders.
- Fully dismantle the complete vehicle damaged areas including the blend panel parts in order to identify all hidden damages as early in the repair cycle as possible. For example remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place, repair or replace damaged windows, windshields and sunroof
- Ability to file, grind and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools
- Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting, apply primers and repaint surfaces.
- Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
- Restore vehicle to factory specification ( Return the vehicle back to factory/OEM specifications)
- Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
- Technician must be able to read and understand the estimates.
- Capable of reading and comprehending automotive repair procedures.
- Able to work with a variety of metals and plastics, as well as glass, electrical, and mechanical parts.
- Experience using frame and measuring equipment.
- Experience with disassembly and reassembly of vehicles
- Ability and willingness to follow standardized production processes.
- Be a great CSN ambassador.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Auto Body Repair and refinishing experience - 3+ years required
- Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License (310Q) (Preferred but not a must) or in a registered apprenticeship program.
- Technicians with I-Car and OEM certifications are favorable.
- Must have I car Welding certification (elaborate on this)
- Must Have Vocational Certificate in Collision Repair (elaborate on this)
- Carrying, Lifting – 100 lbs, standing, sitting, walking, reaching)
- Valid Drivers license required
- Must have own tools, safety footwear.
- Up to date Compliance Training, such as AODA,WHMIS, Worker Health and safety Awareness and Workplace Violence and Harassment)and knowledge of Information Security PIPEDA
- 3 to 5 years of working Knowledge of Mitchell / Audatex

ABOUT THIS JOB
Our Automotive Repair Technician works from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday . No weekends!
You're a vital part of our success and customer satisfaction, performing various repairs and maintenance services to get vehicles back in excellent running condition. As vehicles arrive, you go on test drives to identify issues and confirm the appropriate repairs. You conduct further diagnostic tests to pinpoint mechanical issues and determine what needs to be done. Following manuals and technical specifications, you accurately repair, service, disassemble, and reassemble vehicles and their components. You provide great customer service to clients and help get them safely back on the road!
