Are you passionate about animal welfare and data-driven decision-making? Step into a key leadership role where every detail matters in ensuring the success of our broiler breeder operations. Reporting to the Breeder Operations Manager, as the Breeder Farm Manager, you'll take charge of managing critical flock data—monitoring everything from feed and water intake to body weights, lighting schedules, egg production, barn climate, and overall bird health.
You'll be at the center of our New Brunswick operation, optimizing performance, and maintaining top-tier standards in line with the CHEQ program. Your expertise will help ensure our birds thrive and that our operations remain efficient, and compliant.
Beyond the numbers, you'll work closely with a dedicated team to uphold our high standards in animal husbandry and champion a culture of safety and responsibility across our New Brunswick Broiler Breeder operation.
Position Accountabilities
- Oversee and manage bird production for all breeder operations in New Brunswick. /ul>
- Research and implement new equipment or techniques to maintain animal welfare and operational needs in consultation with the Breeder Operations Manager. /ul>
- Ensure optimal barn conditions prior to bird placement by completing inspections. /ul>
- Monitor barn conditions and production data. /ul>
- Develop and maintain the annual breeder barn operations budget. /ul>
- Develop cost-effective work schedules. /ul>
- Provide strong leadership, coaching, and support to supervisors and team members to foster performance and growth. /ul>
- Foster a positive team environment that promotes teamwork. /ul>
- Complete monthly safety inspections and ensure a safe work environment. /ul>
- Provide an environment free of animal cruelty, abuse and/or neglect for our poultry. /ul>
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping all protected and proprietary information confidential. l>
- Ensure bio security protocols are adhered to. /ul>
- Promote, educate and ensure a high level of animal welfare. /ul>
- Follow and promote all safety processes and procedures. /ul>
- All other duties as assigned. /ul>
- Post-secondary education in Agriculture field, or related experience is preferred. l>
- 3+ years’ experience in a progressive leadership role. l>
- Valid drivers’ license with a clean drivers abstract is required. /ul>
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and written
- Proven ability to coach and develop employees /ul>

We are seeking an individuals to perform a wide variety of functions on an organic vegetable farm. This position offers a flexible work schedule and a minimum of 30 hours per week until the end of the growing season. We are seeking candidates who love working outdoors in varying weather conditions and are passionate about agriculture, gardening, and healthy food. This position will provide an opportunity to work outdoors and learn about vegetable farming. Every day brings new tasks to perform and specific on job learning of an organic approach to vegetable production.
The candidate will perform the day to day activities involved with all horticultural aspects of the farm business. This includes (but is not limited to) planting, crop maintenance, utilizing specialized farming techniques and tools and irrigation systems, harvesting, sorting/packing, maintaining production records, and organization and fulfillment of orders. This employee may also provide customer service, on-farm, or at farmers' markets
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Harvesting a variety of many different vegetables.
Washing and packing produce for market.
Planting, soil preparation
Weeding and cultivating using both hand tools and light machinery
Pest management (natural and organic methods)
Market attendance and sales
Requirements:
Willingness to work outdoors in changing conditions: hot, dry, muddy, wet, rainy, cold, humid.
Hard working and efficiency minded
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions
Ability to problem solve and adapt to situations
Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
Willing to work alone or with others as a team
Access to reliable transportation to get to and from work
Punctual/Reliable/ability to work weekends
Comfortable with dealing with the public
Preference will be given to those who live locally
