We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our innovative, purpose-driven, and multi-disciplinary clinical team as an independent contractor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Services, you will perform assessments, in vivo exposure, accelerated resolution therapy (ART), group facilitation, return to work (RTW) planning, and 1-1 occupational therapy treatment for a range of mental health conditions. You will work with clients in our WCB Alberta, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Flex programs, while collaborating with members of the clinics multi-disciplinary team to achieve positive client outcomes. Youll collaborate closely with colleagues, as well as stakeholders such as third-party funders. Youll work in a fast-paced environment as an integral member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, while sharing our core values of communication, community, excellence, health, and innovation.

Client-centered Care Accountabilities

  • Provide individual trauma therapy.
  • Conduct efficient and effective clinical client assessments (mental health history, risk assessment, trauma, and activities of daily living).
  • Facilitate psychoeducation groups (based on ACT, In-Vivo Exposure, sleep education, DBT skills, mindfulness, and other psychoeducation topics).
  • Provide resource-based interventions, case management and coordination, transition, or discharge planning occasionally.
  • Assist in grounding and reflection post-treatment.
  • Demonstrate expertise and skills to support clients presenting with:
    • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
    • Major Depressive Disorder
    • Personality disorders
    • Psychological injury
    • Chronic pain management
    • Return to work barriers

Team Collaboration Accountabilities

  • Participate in weekly case consultations and complex case discussions with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Work in an interdisciplinary model with other therapists by sharing a client caseload.
  • Communicate with other clinicians on a regular basis about any successes and any concerns related to client care.
  • Attend relevant clinical meetings, including but not limited to WCB, IOP, Flex and other programs.
  • Engagement in professional consults and supervision.

Administrative Accountabilities

  • Ensure same-day completion of session notes.
  • Complete reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide reporting to third-parties and community referral sources.
  • Communicate with employers and/or case managers effectively.

Community Advocacy

  • Participate in mental health promotion activities and contribute to establishing and maintaining mental health and addictions community resources.

Other responsibilities related to the role and scope of work may be assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting clients with mental health conditions, including assessment/triage and treatment, is required.
  • Experience supporting first responders is an asset.
  • Experience working with third-party funders is an asset.

Equivalencies may be considered.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
  • Training certificates in trauma therapy, specifically Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and/or Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) are an asset.

Professional Registration/Designation

  • An active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) is required.
  • Professional liability insurance is required.

Technical Competences

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is required. Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is also required.

Background Check

THE DEAL:

Hair Chair 4 days a week : 1200/month

Additional fees:

Color fee: color bar is available pay-per-use (when using the salon color bar) and charged directly to your client and paid to the salon through the point of sale.

Backbar fee is included in rent and applied to cutting, and styling services (excludes bang trims, clipper cuts, or braiding).

(Back bar fees cover the cost of washes, rinses, styling products, towels, capes, extension removers and solvents and sanitation products and tools.)

Signing bonus: We know how scary moving your guests to a new home can be, and we want to ease this transition for you! For the first month at Ten Fifteen Beauty we will reduce your rent to $1000
