Global Derivative Services is responsible for all back-office functions that support derivative trading enterprise-wide, including both the General Account and 3rd party funds managed by Manulife and Manulife Asset Management. Daily functions include the monitoring of collateral positions and margin requirements across bilateral and exchange traded clearing accounts, derivative trade processing, reconciliation resolution, OTC and margin settlements, and fielding audit inquiries.
The Associate Collateral Analyst should possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Collaboration with the Front Office, Solutions, IT and other Operations teams will be essential for success.
Position Responsibilities:
Collateral/margin management for Futures, OTC, and Cleared products including issuing and managing margin calls and initial margin, substitutions, repos, and cash management.
Ensure variety of daily deliverables for Collateral Team are met with completeness and accuracy.
Continuously seek out ways to strengthen key control environment.
Develop and manage working relationships with clearing broker back-office counterparts and custodian banks.
Process internal ad hoc requests from various groups in a timely and efficient manner.
Update or create new process documents for all tasks relevant to the position and maintain internal database of all process documents.
Propose improvements to current processes that will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.
Contribute to the gathering of data for quarterly metrics reporting to senior management.
Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting duties in a timely manner.
Contribute to the capacity and depth of Global Derivatives Services to respond to the organization’s current and future derivative collateral demands effectively and holistically.
Required Qualifications:
1-3 years of investment operations experience.
Solid understanding and direct Middle/Back Office experience in, but not limited to, the following: Full Lifecycle of futures, OTC, and cleared derivative products.
Bilingual preferred but not required - The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant undergraduate education; degrees in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics is preferred.
Custodian/clearing broker operations, settlements, and associated reconciliations.
Ability to prioritize problems/tasks while working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with a focus on accuracy.
Familiarity with FIS Apex product is an advantage. Experience with MS Office suite, derivative trading/accounting platforms, collateral management systems, and third-party market data providers is preferred.
Strong technical skills in various Microsoft Applications highly preferred.
Solid organizational skills and a high degree of professionalism combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing environments and take care of competing priorities.
Team player with demonstrated experience building and maintaining good working relationships both internally and externally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Own the full visibility of Valsoft’s deal pipeline across all investment groups.

- Champion data hygiene in Outreach and SAP by applying process pressure and follow-ups with M&A teams.
- Collaborate with data and BI teams to ensure automated dashboards are accurate and business-ready.
- Drive adoption of best practices in deal tracking and reporting across groups.
- Strategic Insight & C-Suite Enablement
- Synthesize pipeline trends and external intelligence into strategic insights.
- Support C-Suite in investment committee meetings, board reports, and capital deployment decisions.
- Recommend enhancements to our internal tracking and evaluation systems based on observed gaps.
REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience in Market Research, Corporate Development, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Consulting, Transactional Service, or similar roles. Experience supporting M&A lead generation is a bonus.
- Strong understanding of M&A process, deal origination, and capital deployment dynamics.

- Identify trends, variances, and cash flow risks, providing recommendations for optimization.
- Liquidity & Cash Management:
- Monitor daily cash positions and ensure adequate liquidity across all regions.
- Support the implementation of cash pooling, intercompany funding, and treasury centralization strategies.
- Assist in optimizing working capital by managing cash balances efficiently.
- Treasury Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and analyze treasury reports for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with internal treasury policies and external banking regulations.
- Support audits and internal controls related to cash management.
- Banking & Payments:
- Assist in managing banking relationships and account structures.
- Support payment processes, ensuring smooth execution of transactions.
- Assist in evaluating banking services and fees for optimization opportunities.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and IT, to enhance treasury processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation and system enhancements to improve efficiency.
- Support the implementation of treasury technology solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in treasury, cash management, corporate finance, or a related function.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
- Understanding of cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital optimization.
- Familiarity with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and ERP systems is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with global teams.
- Proactive problem-solver with a results-oriented mindset.

Job Description
As an integral member of the advisory team, you will be challenged to accept increasing levels of responsibility as you develop your skills and reputation. Your work will directly impact our clients and the firm.
Your role will include:
Participating in the execution of equity and debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions, public-private partnerships, and principal investments
Developing complex financial models for infrastructure transactions, including the use of macros and VBA programming
Assisting in the management of due diligence processes, including managing third-party advisors
Developing asset valuations using a variety of approaches
Preparing client presentations and actively participating in discussions
Evaluating investment opportunities and management of existing investments
Researching potential investment banking opportunities; providing research on target companies, sectors, industries, and geographies
Maintaining marketing materials for the firm, including creating pitch decks to be presented to potential clients
Job Requirements
Completion of an undergraduate program with specialization in finance is required;
Please highlight if you have post-graduation or equivalent formal education in finance;
Prior investment banking experience is required;
Prior experience in infrastructure advisory is required;
Minimum one year of full-time work experience is required;
Exceptional academic results (minimum cGPA of 80% or 3.7/4.0);
Ability to concisely communicate complex concepts and ideas verbally and in writing;
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision;
Desire to assume increasing levels of responsibility and seek solutions to complex problems;
