We are seeking an experienced senior-level estimator for a leading GC in Thunder Bay.
The business continues to deliver exceptional projects in sectors including: Healthcare, Education, Residential, Hospitality, Civil etc
Reporting into the VP's and Owner of the business, you will be a key part of the company's future as they continue to thrive in the local market.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Have a strong knowledge of full-cycle estimating, as well as the ability to lead junior estimators through project pursuits.
- Lead bidding and pre-construction estimating efforts, ensuring positive financial outcomes in collaboration with the VP and Owner.
- Review project scopes to confirm estimate completeness, including specifications, subcontractor scopes, and general conditions
- Identify constructability requirements for high-level budgets and order-of-magnitude estimates
- Recommend and approve strategies for risk mitigation, cost savings, and project opportunities
- Develop and approve bid strategies and innovative approaches to increase success rate
- Track and analyze data from estimating pursuits
- Mentor, train, and manage other estimators
- Support profit/loss performance of estimated projects valued above $20m.
- Provide leadership and guidance in organizing, planning, and supervising estimating personnel
- Foster a culture of coaching and mentoring within the estimating team
- Review and oversee all estimates, including detailed checks of team outputs
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant construction field
- 10+ years of combined field and estimating experience within a GC
- Track record of leading $20M+ projects, including design build
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and build high-performing teams
- Experience in design-build, IPD, and Construction Management is required

The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise as a Systems or Integration Analyst with a strong background in healthcare information systems . This role requires proven experience in data modeling, migration, patient data conversion, and healthcare system integration . Candidates must hold a valid PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner certification and a post-secondary degree in computer science, software development, business computing, or MIS . Prior government project experience (2–3 years) is preferred.
Must Haves (Mandatory Requirements):
- Post-secondary degree in computer science, software development, business computing, or management information systems (proof required).
- Valid PRINCE2 Foundation or Practitioner certification (proof required).
- Copies of degrees or certifications must be uploaded with submission.
Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years as a Systems/Integration Analyst in a project environment, including integration specifications, data modeling, and data migration.
- 10+ years in implementing clinical information systems in healthcare as an analyst.
- 5+ years analyzing patient data conversion and mapping from central client registry systems to new healthcare systems.
- 2+ years implementing an Initiate client registry system in a healthcare setting.
- 3+ years performing integration and data conversion analysis on RIS or PACS systems (HL7 standard).
- 5+ years implementing Allscripts or Altera Suite of products in healthcare, including integration and reporting analysis.
Preferred:
- 2–3 years of prior experience working on government projects or within a government environment .
