Our Client based in Toronto is a full-service law firm providing representation and assistance across multiple verticals. They are currently seeking an experienced Law Clerk to join their busy Real Estate Group.
Your new role
In this new role as a Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk you will be responsible for a wide variety of legal and administrative duties within the real estate sphere, working with a team of Clerks supporting a Lawyer. You will manage and complete commercial purchase and mortgage files from start to finish. In this role you will Handle all forms of real estate files, including purchases, sales, mortgages, and refinancing. Drafting and coordinating necessary documents required for closing.
Organize/collect material for commercial real estate deals and summarize this information, as needed.
What you will need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must have minimum of 8-years relevant real estate experience at a law firm. Knowledge of acquisitions, dispositions, financings, project development, and condo and development work are an asset. Real estate statutes and practices, legal concepts and procedures, transactional experience and broad, but thorough knowledge of basic legal principles are essential for this role. You should have exceptional written and communication skills, are organized and meticulous with follow-up and details, and are able to take initiative, prioritize, and multi-task. Experience in Teraview and Conveyancer is a must.

Our client is a leading boutique law firm specializing in immigration matters, and they are looking to hire a Law Clerk with a minimum of 2-3 years of Canadian immigration experience working on temporary residence matters, including both LMIA-based work permit applications and a wide range of LMIA-exempt work permit applications, and permanent residence matters, including Express Entry-based PR applications, PNP applications and Family Sponsorship applications, in a fast-paced environment
Your new role
In this new role you will be responsible for implementing various immigration strategies to deliver on clients’ needs and mitigate immigration risks. Research specific visa office/application type requirements and prepare initial list of documents and information required for review by lawyer. You will prepare application forms, drafts and documents for work permit applications, study permit applications, temporary resident visas, permanent residence and citizenship matters independently at the instruction of a lawyer. Management of multiple files from beginning to end including the provision of regular updates to clients. In your new role you will also be required to stay abreast of changes in immigration law, regulation, and policy. You will also prepare applications for filing via government portals in a timely manner.
What you will need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must have minimum of 2-3 years of Canadian immigration experience working on temporary residence matters, including both LMIA-based work permit applications and a wide range of LMIA-exempt work permit applications, and permanent residence matters, including Express Entry-based PR applications, PNP applications and Family Sponsorship applications, in a fast-paced environment.
