Lead Technician
Position Summary
Paul Davis Restoration provides property damage emergency services, restoration and reconstruction services for residential and commercial properties due to water, fire, mold, storm and other disasters.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • High-level performance of water mitigation, tarping, board up, mold remediation, asbestos/lead abatement, and carpet cleaning/reinstallation services according to Paul Davis and industry specifications under the supervision of the Operation Manager.
  • The Restoration Industry is a 24/7 on call business. On call availability is required.
  • Focus and dedication to providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintain a clean, properly stocked, and organized truck and maintain all company equipment.
  • Assist in warehousing and facility-related tasks when necessary.
  • You will be a leader for the team.

  • 1 plus year experience in a craft, trade, or manual labor position or equivalent schooling
Physical Requirement
  • Must be able to stay in a stationary position up to 25% of the time within a vehicle.
  • Ready to maneuver safely about job sites, stairs, walkways, roofs, crawl spaces
  • Occasionally ascends and descends a ladder to complete jobs
  • Must be able to observe and perceive information on a computer, cell phone and documents
  • Must be able to communicate and converse with customers over the phone and face to face
  • Frequently will lift to 75lbs

Reporting to the Emergency Services Manager & Production Manager, the Lead Technician will be responsible for managing and conducting various general cleaning and mitigation/restoration services at assigned residential and commercial client sites. This will include providing direction and support to the assigned Crew Helpers and Technicians.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a full-time experienced Lead Technician who will be responsible for all aspects of mitigating losses and returning affected properties to pre-loss condition.

The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. The tasks and the time spent performing each task may vary as business needs require. ServiceMaster Clean/ServiceMaster Restore maintains the right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion.

Daily Office/Management Duties
  • Review work orders assigned daily and communicate with other associates involved as needed
  • Check routing and directions to each job as required
  • Inspect materials and equipment required for the scheduled jobs is in good working order and loaded on company vehicles prior to leaving the office
  • Create a requisition for materials and equipment needed for pick-up at the end of each working week

Client Site Duties
  • Complete jobs to specifications to customers satisfaction
  • Manage work assignments within units allocated, and ensure the materials and equipment units taken are recorded on the work orders
  • Complete daily moisture readings comparing to the pre-established dry standards on jobs, where required.
  • Inspect the work completed to ensure the job meets ServiceMaster standards and customer requirements
  • Facilitate customer inspection of the job after completion, request customer signs off on the form indicating their satisfaction, and process payment for work completed
  • Handle re-service requests promptly and courteously
  • Take a personal and genuine interest in providing customer satisfaction
  • Provide training to Crew Helpers and Technicians to complete all jobs in accordance to specifications outlined

General Duties
  • Maintain all equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in proper working order
  • Keep the interior of the vehicles used neat and clean
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the business and services offered, advise customer appropriately, qualify jobs to be completed and gain the confidence of clients
  • Attend weekly meetings with production team
  • Attend training workshops as required for the production team
  • Help train new crew helpers/technicians in accordance with ServiceMaster standards
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance in all client facing activities
  • Establish positive rapport with clients when possible
  • Provide an exceptional level of service that exceeds the expectation of the client
  • Conduct all work in accordance with company safety policies
  • Adherence to all company workplace policies
  • Perform other duties as may be required

Able to respond/mobilize to remote locations if necessary during catastrophe events, with potential stay in mobilized market 3-4 weeks. Willing to submit personal information for a criminal background check.

You must have at a minimum IICRC WRT certification. (+1 other IICRC preferred)

Physical Requirements
This position requires a high level of physical exertion. Moderate intensity of sensory effort is required.

• 3 years of experience in building automation / HVAC controls including but not limited to RTU, AHU, Boiler and VAV Control systems.
• Degree / diploma in a related field.
• Must have valid G license.
• Should be available to provide on-call support on a rotational schedule as required.

WE VALUE
• 3+ years of experience using Basic Windows and Microsoft Office experience.
• Ability to work safely within the Honeywell/Customer HSE requirements.
• Be able to work effectively both individually and with a group without need of direct supervision.
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills; capable of learning available analysis tools to solve complex system or process problems.
• Design/Engineer solutions to prevent reoccurring problems as knowledge is acquired.
• Capable of writing, reviewing, and / or editing various types of technical reports.
• Able to conduct formal meetings with customer management personnel.
• Capable of evaluating control effectiveness as knowledge is acquired.
• Capable of verifying and calibrating sensors as well as possessing a working knowledge of sensor operations and correctors.
• Knowledge of system architecture and operations as well as applicable database items needed for basic maintenance and calibration.
• Project a positive and confident attitude focused on meeting and exceeding customer expectations.You will report directly to our Sr. Field Service Supervisor, and you'll work on customer sites based out of our Markham, Ontario office.

In this role, you will impact the success of our field service operations, customer satisfaction, and the growth of the organization. You will work with critical building management, HVAC and security systems with the opportunity to work on a range of commercial and government buildings, health care facilities. In this role you will help our customers to use technology to improve productivity and increase the value of services provided to our many different customers.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**YOU MUST HAVE**

+ Valid G license.

+ Prior experience working with access control and security systems
+ Ability to read wiring diagrams and proper & safe use of a multimeter
