The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the logistics chain in the Laboratory Operations. The Supervisor oversees the day-to-day running of the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for looking after shipping and receiving of client samples and logging samples into LIMS upon receipt. This position is given direction from the Client Services Manager. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for department administration for logistics activities. Training can be provided to the appropriate candidate.
What you will be doing:
- Supervise and mentor logistics team and drivers
- Ensure that all samples are entered in the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) in an accurate and expedient manner
- Ensure all sample integrity issues are properly documented and reported
- Keep CPM team, sales team, and lab managers informed on rush and time sensitive samples that arrive at the lab as well as incoming expected samples
- Ensure proper and accurate completion of all outgoing bottle orders
- Ensure availability of sample supply stock
- Ensure sample pick-ups and supply delivery meets client expectations Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement to management
- Ensure compliance with required safety protocols and adherence to PPE policy
- Other duties as assigned

Operate forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload,

POSITION TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring consistent discipline and retraining
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, MOT, MOE, MOL
- Complete performance evaluations
- Respond and handle client requests and/or issues in a timely manner to ensure clients satisfaction.
- Coordinate with Fleet Maintenance concerning commercial vehicle preventative maintenance and repair requirements
- Manage and direct the activities of team members, equipment and maintenance dept.
- Other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education, preferably in a business/Logistic discipline
- 3-5 yrs. of Transportation/Logistics experience preferred
- 3-5 yrs. Logistics Routing experience focusing on efficiencies preferred
- Supervisory experience within the transportation/Logistics environment
- Ability to coach, mentor and train employees
- Strong ability to manage within a Union work environment
- Strong communication and demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to work within a team atmosphere to achieve common goals
- Commercial license considered an asset (AZ, DZ)
- Ability to work independent and to provide professional guidance/oversight to Logistic operators/maintenance staff.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to maintain Routing efficiency.
- Knowledge of Union.
