Machine Operator – Night Shift
Location: Brantford, ON
Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Machine Operator to join our client’s growing food manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain processing equipment, ensure food safety and quality standards, and support production efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Operate food processing and packaging machinery safely and efficiently
Follow GMP, HACCP, WHMIS, and food safety standards at all times
Assist with plant start-up, shut down, troubleshooting, and changeovers
Monitor product quality and take corrective action when required
Handle raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials
Perform basic maintenance, machine adjustments, and clear blockages
Communicate production issues to Line Leaders, Supervisors, and Maintenance teams
Ensure accurate recipes and batch parameters are followed
Conduct QA checks, oven temperature checks, and complete required documentation
Clean and sanitize machines, equipment, and work areas according to standards
Safely use hoists, cranes, and other bakery machinery as trained
Support team members and provide coverage during breaks
What We’re Looking For
Previous machine operator experience in food manufacturing, industrial baking, or consumer packaged goods
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Comfortable with hot, humid, and noisy conditions
Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and meet the physical demands of the job
Working Conditions
Exposure to moving machinery, heat, humidity, dust, and manufacturing chemicals
Standing, lifting, bending, and climbing ladders required

**Responsibilities**
+ Machine operators may be assigned to multiple workstations.
+ Perform a variety of select tasks in a manufacturing environment:
+ Complete product packaging per specifications/instructions.
+ Weighing of product (if applicable).
+ Assembling products (if applicable) per specifications/instructions.
+ Running auxiliary equipment (if applicable)
+ Carryout machine operator instructions as directed by shift supervisor, runner, and/or quality personnel.
+ Familiar with customer requirements, completing basic cosmetic inspections on molded products prior to packaging.
+ Familiar with CMG part number system.
+ Communicate product defects to shift supervisor and/or quality inspectors.Awareness, understanding and acknowledgment of CMG GMP behavioral requirements as outlined on the Employee General Work Practices FSSR-780-051/052 document.
+ Maintaining the cleanliness of the workstation.
+ Duties may include sweeping the floor and cleaning equipment within the workstation as instructed by shift supervisor.
+ Machine operator duties may also include grinding of scrap product either at the workstation or in a separate area within the facility.
+ Specific instructions/training and PPE will be provided as needed.Awareness and avoidance of potential safety hazards.
+ Properly identifying finished product, placing labels on cartons, pallets, etc., as instructed.
+ Maintain control of tools and other equipment provided at the start of the shift.
+ Responsible for returning the equipment at the end of the shift.
+ Awareness of CMG emergency evacuation procedure.
+ Maintaining facility security, not allowing anyone into the facility unless instructed to do so by the shift supervisor.
+ Operating material handling equipment when instructed to do so by the shift supervisor.
+ Respectful and polite communication with shift coworkers and shift supervision.Participate in training events.
+ Awareness and understanding of product safety requirements as it relates to the following:
+ Waste Management (proper disposal of waste products)
+ Glass, Brittle Plastics, Wood and Small Metal Policy (potentially contaminating product caused by the presence of foreign objects, jewelry, broken glass and plastic pieces, metal, wood, etc. in the work area, and not using CMG products as storage vessels or tools)
+ Sanitation Program (importance of keeping the work area clean)Pest Control (awareness of the program only - do not touch or move pest control devices)
+ Employee Hygiene (usage of personal protection equipment, wearing clean cloths, washing of hands after touching food, waste, using the washroom, etc.)
+ Allergen Control Program (understanding CMG is a peanut free facility)Chemical Management (proper usage and storage of chemicals)
+ Perform other tasks assigned by shift supervisor.
**Qualifications**
**Experience:**
+ Prefer 3/6+ months of manufacturing experience within CMG
**Education:**
+ Should be appropriate to job requirement
