Job Description

  • Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable infrastructure solutions that align with NIQ’s security and compliance objectives.  

  • Serve as a trusted subject matter expert, driving initiatives that strengthen NIQ’s security posture and advance our engineering maturity across diverse lines of business and technologies. 

  • Demonstrated senior-level expertise, with a proven ability to lead the resolution of complex technical issues, provide strategic support across diverse environments, and guide teams through advanced troubleshooting and incident response scenarios. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple lines of business to deliver security solutions that enable our growth while managing risk effectively. 

  • Champion automation, observability, and engineering best practices to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of NIQ’s security infrastructure. 

  • Mentor and uplift junior engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and pride in our collective capabilities. 

  • Translate security requirements into actionable technical strategies, balancing security, usability, and operational efficiency. 

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, lead root cause analyses, and drive long-term improvements that reflect NIQ’s commitment to quality and accountability. 

  • Influence strategic planning and decision-making, contributing to the evolution of enterprise security architecture. 

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and supporting secure infrastructure solutions in complex enterprise environments. 

  • Expertise in Networking and Network Security Cybersecurity domains. 

  • Hands-on experience with network analysis and security tools such as packet capture, NGFW, IDS/IPS, web proxy/SWG, routing/switching, DNS, application layer networking, transport layer security (encryption/decryption), certificate handling and wireless technologies.  

  • A strong command of spoken and written English, to facilitate communications with our global workforce. 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across technical and business teams. 

  • Demonstrated leadership in coaching and mentoring junior engineers. 

  • Working knowledge of the CIS framework and risk management practices. 

  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems (or equivalent practical experience). 

  • A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in Cybersecurity and/or Information Technology (IT), demonstrating expertise in securing systems, managing risk, and supporting enterprise IT environments, is required. 

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ISC2, GIAC) are a plus.

**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide consultation and advice to partners on a broad range Technology Controls / Information Security programs / policies / standards and incidents for own specialized area

Position Summary

The Information Security Operations Specialist plays a critical role in safeguarding Beanfield’s information assets by maintaining a secure environment, monitoring security events and alerts, and responding to confirmed and potential cyber threats.

This role is responsible for the management and operation of security tools and systems, including firewalls, corporate network equipment, and security solutions, while developing and tuning detection rules, monitoring security events, and leading investigations and response activities. The Information Security Operations Specialist works closely with Beanfield’s technical teams to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of critical information systems.

Key Responsibilities

Security Infrastructure Operations

  • Develop, implement, and maintain firewall & security appliance rules to enforce security policies and restrict unauthorized traffic.
  • Process and review firewall & security appliance rule change requests, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
  • Monitor firewall & security appliance performance and health; conduct maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
  • Administer and monitor network access, ensuring only authorized devices and users connect to the LAN.
  • Lead efforts to remediate vulnerabilities and risks across security and LAN devices, reducing the organization’s attack surface.
  • Ensure compliance of network devices and endpoints with established security policies and baselines.
  • Centralize and correlate relevant security events from firewalls and network devices for anomaly detection and investigation.

Threat Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Develop, deploy, and operate monitoring tools for network traffic, system logs, and alerts to detect threats or vulnerabilities.
  • Proactively track emerging threats and recommend security enhancements to strengthen overall posture.
  • Investigate, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents following the incident management framework.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead incident response, manage escalations, and provide technical expertise.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews, identify root causes, and contribute to problem management to prevent recurrence.

Security Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the creation, implementation, and management of security policies, procedures, and controls aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in ITIL-based continual improvement initiatives to refine security processes and improve response efficiency.
  • Contribute to enhancing the maturity of the Security Operations function.

Security Reporting & Documentation

  • Compile and maintain security incident reports, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, incident response plans, and security policies.
  • Provide regular reports to the Director of Information Security on incident status, vulnerability trends, and security performance metrics.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Required:
    • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with firewall management, network operations, threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
    • Familiarity with SIEM platforms, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other cybersecurity tools
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical security concepts to non-technical audiences
    • Current knowledge of cybersecurity methodologies and trends
    • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
    • Self-motivated, dependable, resilient to change, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Preferred:
    • 4+ years of experience in one or more of: Network Operations, Security Operations, IT Operations, Security Incident Response
    • Hands-on experience with FortiNet products and technologies
    • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS)
    • Scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for security automation
    • Exposure to network planning, design, and governance risk & compliance
    • Experience with ITIL-based Incident and Problem Management
    • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS-CSC, SOC 2, ISO 27001)
    • Preferred certifications, such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CompTIA Security+, or ITIL v4 Foundations

Additional Requirements

  • Availability to participate in on-call rotation for security incidents, including after-hours work during critical events.

What you will do: 

  • Providing Security Guard Services at Respite Center. 

  • Monitoring and patrolling assigned areas; 

  • Observing, investigating and acting on possible breaches of security, fire and safety hazards, illegal entry, theft, and malfunction or interruption of utilities; 

  • Providing highly visible with professional knowledge of security protocols and the ability to react in multiple scenarios. 

  • Acting as an ambassador of the client site by creating a presence that builds a safe and welcoming environment for all service users, employees, and visitors. Providing customer service, responding to inquiries and performing guarded tours along designated routes; 

  • Informing the designated authorities in the event of security, fire, or health emergencies. Escorting designated authorities, police, fire, and ambulance personnel to emergency locations; 

  • Documenting all security incidents into a clear, concise ,complete and accurate security incident report 

  • Recording and maintaining logbook of daily activities, unusual or special occurrences and issuance of equipment to staff. 

  • Enforcement of the Trespass to Property act including physically removing individuals found trespassing or engaging in criminal acts on premises or the assigned property. 

  • Performing emergency response duties in accordance with the Emergency Response Manual. 

  • Receiving/recording complaints, conducting investigations, preparing incident reports, and conducting follow up investigations; 

  • Liaising with Shelter management to communicate any issues and challenges to site operations and reporting any health and safety concerns or fire and life safety concerns.  

Who you are: 

  • 1 year of Canadian Police or Canadian Armed forces experience  

  • Graduate from a recognized community college in thee field of law enforcement, security administration or related field, including justice studies, social service, mental health and/or healthcare 

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience within North American security industry and experience in a related security function 

  • Hands on experience with making or assisting arrests. 

  • Eligible to work in Canada. 

  • Strong communication and observation skills.  

  • Ability to work in high stress environment.  

  • Ability to make quick and informed decisions.  

  • Licensed by the Province of Ontario as a registered Security Guard and must maintain the license for the duration of employment. 

  • Smart Serve, De-Escalation, SCDT, Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certifications 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of common security policies and various related Acts, Codes and legislation, including the Criminal Code, the Trespass to Property Act, the Fire Code and WHMIS

Working with integrity and respect, the Respite Security Protection Specialist takes responsibility for secure and safe at the Respite Centers in Toronto.

What you will do:
• Providing Security Guard Services at a Respite Center.
• Monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, that includes responding to routine, and security & law enforcement calls.
• Providing a highly visible presence on and around our client sites with the ability to react in multiple scenarios.

• Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education.

• Eligible to work in Canada.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Ability to work in high stress environment.
• Ability to make quick and informed decisions.
• Must possess an Ontario Security Guard License.
• First Aid, CPR and AED certification is preferred
• Use of force certification is preferred
• Strong tactical awareness and de-escalation experience
• Law enforcement education is considered an asset
