Our Substations Group is currently looking to add a Quality Inspection Technician to our growing team, based in Vaughan, ON.
Reporting to the Quality Manager – Substations, this position is responsible for performing quality inspections on electrical and civil installations to ensure compliance with Valard’s Quality Program and Quality Management System. The initial assignment will support three substations in the Guelph and Vaughan areas. This is a great opportunity for a Technician or Electrician looking to transition to a career in Quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute quality assurance and quality control activities on the project site
- Follow, and ensure compliance with, Valard's Quality Manual, project specific Quality Plan, and Inspection and Test Plans
- Support team members on Quality matters
- Ensure Valard meets the requirements of the applicable Contract, Client Standards, Provincial and Federal Regulations, and Code(s) of Construction
- Liaise with cross-functional groups within Valard, as well as the designated client and sub-contractor quality personnel on quality matters for the project
- Review of all full and partial assemblies/installations for completeness and conformance to IFC drawings and applicable specifications
- Flag all deficiencies and monitor remedial actions
- Ensure identifying and tracking any damaged or material issues
- Work with the materials coordinator (as applicable) to ensure nonconforming materials are repaired or replaced in accordance with IFC drawings
- Maintain and manage the Master Punch List
- Assemble the progressive turnover packages
Scope of inspections include, but is not limited to : Grounding systems; Foundation installation; Structural steel welding and erection; Electrical equipment, materials, and installations; Cabling and wiring; Control building construction; Site drainage and underground installations
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- 3 years experience in quality assurance and quality control activities
- Demonstrated experience with civil, structural, and electrical construction activities
- Knowledge of construction project processes such as RFIs, Change Management, Field Instructions, NCRs, Walk-Down, Commissioning, Turnover, “As-Built” drawings
- Background in reading and interpreting technical documents such as codes, standards, specifications, construction drawings
- Proficiency in MS Office (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) as well as Adobe Acrobat
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
- Red Seal Electrician certification
- Experience with BlueBeam Revu
- Power systems experience (Distribution, Substation, and/or Transmission)
- Concrete, piling and earthworks experience

As a Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager , reporting to the Account Director, you will ensure the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program is maintained and followed throughout operations. This position may require travel up to 50% of the time to various buildings throughout Canadian Forces Base Borden.
Your work will include:
- Support the site team to plan, control and supervise maintenance work and operation of Dexterra activities at CFB Borden.
- To lead process improvement projects, such as CMMS utilization and database management.
- Ensure that contractually agreed quality, audit, and compliance obligations meet SLA's and are delivered to the client’s satisfaction.
- Ensure work is being performed safely by staff and subcontractors.
- Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, supplies, utilities, and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
- Coordinate external contractors work for a variety of repairs and maintenance projects.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining technical information, regulatory compliance records, licensing and certifications to meet all federal and provincial legislation, code and standards.
- Assists managing the maintenance management software (CMMS).
- Ensures that proper level of spare parts is available to minimize the down time or unavailability of space and/or equipment. Procuring parts/equipment as necessary.
- Provides procedural directions and problem-solving guidance to staff.
- Provides verbal and written reports as requested.
- Regularly monitor, report and communicate project progress.
- Review quality/safety procedures to ensure that there is adequate control of the quality/safety elements and facilitate as necessary to progress and close out any issues.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Attention to detail is key! We need an individual who is detailed-oriented, can adapt quicky in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, and someone who is willing to jump in where needed.
- Strong administrative skills is a necessity.
- Experience in at least one area (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial) and knowledge of the others is an asset.
- Successful completion of a diploma/degree/certificate ; an Engineering field is preferred, or in Trades and Technology.
- At least 2 years of experience in construction in either the residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, factory building, or modular manufacturing sectors is preferred.
- Previous experience in a QA/QC role is preferred.
- Familiar with the use and interpretation of Canadian Code Books and Industry Standards (TSSA, CAN ULC, ESA , ASTM, ASHRAE , NFPA etc.)
- Possess and maintain a safe driving record.
- Comprehensive experience reading specifications, drawings, and other associated project documentation.
- Able to assist in the coordination and maintenance of an applied program for Quality Control.
- Public Works and Government Services Canada, Level 2 Secret clearance will be required which includes 10 years Canadian Citizenship and clean criminal record.

**Job Description**
We are seeking an Associate, Quality Assurance to be based out of our Canada office. This position provides support to the DRL, Canada quality function by working with quality systems, and within established procedures in order to facilitate GMP compliance and regulations for drug products. The role is responsible for quality activities in relation to product importation and identifies/reports quality/compliance issues and ensures adherence to quality, Good Manufacturing Practice and good distribution practice.
This role reports to Head of Quality - Canada and works closely with multiple functions including, but not limited to Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Third Party Partners/Vendors, Customers and Health Canada.
**Roles & Responsibilities**
+ Ensures adherence to Pharmaceutical quality, health and safety, Good Manufacturing Practice and good distribution practice and management of Quality Systems to maintain quality standards
+ Carries knowledge of quality processes, resolves routine issues that arise within the Quality Team to maintain compliance standards; escalates issues to manager for resolution
+ Understands and implements GMP regulations in relation to product release, especially activities around imported products, and handling 3PL vendors
+ Provides QA/QC support internally and coordinates interdepartmental activities with Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain and Operations
+ Processes complaints in the Medical Information Management system and lead them to closure
+ Responsible for initiation, management and completion of QMS - Deviation, CAPA, Change Controls to ensure adequate documentation
+ Prepares and reviews Annual Product Quality Review (APQRs) and stability reports to ensure compliance to marketed products
+ Performs batch release activities by reviewing batch release documentation such as: manufacturing batch records, CoA's, CoM's, and all allied activities as per SOPs to ensure that Canadian GMPs are met
+ Manages the sample requests, returns, product hold and destructions process
+ Evaluates temperature data for incoming finished products and make informed decision about impact to products
+ Functions as the documentation specialist managing the Quality Assurance SOPs, including: biennial reviews, revisions, generation, etc. and oversees administrative activities for the Quality department including: filing, maintaining master documents, etc.
+ Ensures training is completed for new employees and training records are current.
+ Responsible to address issues and identify trends that help to ensure compliance, development and implementation of process improvements.
**Qualifications**
**Educational qualification:** Bachelor's Degree in scientific discipline (chemistry, pharmaceutics, biology or another related science)
**Minimum work experience:** Five years of experience in a Quality Assurance role in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is preferred
**Skills & attributes:**
+ Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment within the quality department to ensure all aspects of GMP are met from a product quality and compliance standpoint
+ Experience in reading and understanding analytical test results on certificates of analysis along with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in pharmaceutical production processes (i.e. injectable products, solid dosage forms, semi-solids, and liquids)
+ Strong planning and organization computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ Strong analytical thinking required
+ Superior attention to accuracy and details
+ Strong communication (verbal, written)
+ Ability to work independently and in cross-functional team settings

**Job Purpose and Impact**
The Quality Assurance Supervisor will lead a variety of food safety and quality assurance programs. In this role, you will supervise the audits and inspects processes that monitors harvest operations to assure compliance with current food safety, quality and regulatory requirements. You will lead and review the work of a team of technicians that identify and evaluate in process goods, procedures and operations.
**Key Accountabilities**
Ensure adherence to corporate, regulatory and facility food safety and quality requirements.
Provide overall leadership, development and talent management for direct reports, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting.
Investigate food safety processes to ensure compliance and report noncompliance to management and governing bodies along with developing and implementing corrective action plans.
